Yet another metal piece.
http://soundcloud.com/stone-mcknuckle/shedding-skin
This is yet another attempt at a metal setup that doesn't sound like ass. I managed to get some pretty smooth sounding rhythm guitars this time around, and the bass should be less crazy. It's a different approach from Primal Fire (less EQ'ing out lower frequencies, more toning down the bass channel), but I'm not sure how well it works yet. Hoping for some feedback on this. I'll finish up an acoustic or electronic song and post that next time so you guys don't get bored. |

Meh, not a fan. It's just not my type of music.

Re: Yet another metal piece.
really not enough synths
otherwise it's very good, you should make some video game OST. It's dynamic but it lacks originality for the melody.

Re: Yet another metal piece.
Can't please everyone. Actually, that's precisely what's deterred me from posting here thus far - I've always figured everyone here only had ears for dubstep and stuff like that. Being proven otherwise has been a pleasant surprise.
This was intended to be less video game and more heavy metal than what I usually strive for, which is why I avoided synths as best I could. In all honesty, I just listened to this while going to school this morning and realized a backing rock organ would've added a lot of depth to this and probably would've allowed me to skip the annoying sawtooth. I don't really understand why I never thought of this while writing it, but whatever. :/ I was working on one - with some really good material, too - until the game project itself was put on hold. Sadface. EDIT: Actually, I've made an FM synthesis soundtrack previously (old unfinished copies of which can be found on my soundcloud 'cause I always jump the gun on uploading songs) and I'm working together with some friends on a new game project featuring slap basses and crazy retard funk. It'd be nice to work more with soundtracks, but game development takes forever. damb thanks for da comments guys :> Last edited by StoneMcKnuckle; 09-30-2011 at 02:56 AM.. |

Awesomeeeeee! You're probably tired of hearing this, but I'd love to hear this in a video game. I love the panning and instrumentation. Keep at it.
