Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
LOL... I'm dead night 1 in Iggy's game anyway. If I'm human, dead night 1. If I'm a wolf, I'm dead day 1. No guardian.
I still think Fojar's game has too many things thrown in at once... I'm fairly confident I'll be able to come up with some loophole once I actually think about this game. For now, since we aren't playing it yet, I really haven't looked at it hard enough. Hopefully someone else will send me a host voting that is of a game that can be proven to be slightly more balanced... not just 2 different noobs guesses at what their games might be like.

I'd rather you come up with the loophole now rather than mid-game

Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
Doesn't work that way, love.... I gotta be in the MINDSET of the game to figure **** out. For now, I just give the game a cursory look, nothing more.
Best case in point is the vigi. We used it in TWO games before I got the role in twg15... but I didn't come up with the loophole in the role until it was mine to play. MINDSET.

Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
when fojar went over the game with me a long time ago I didn't spot any huge loopholes. Only problems are what you've already pointed out: game size. If there were a way to shrink it somehow that would be best.

I know both our games are unstable looking but if you guys are thinking about running a game like the few we've had, you guys need to break out of this "safe" game box you're in. I mean even if it does go horribly wrong, we have tass to argue it until it's thrown out. I'm open to new ideas, but not ideas that are boring. Both the game types now are going to be sweet and I want to see one of the two played. (or something similar if someone wants to throw another idea out there.) |

Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
To all who are wondering and or planning strats around the bookie: The bookie's hidden identity is taken on faith. If you are the bookie you are to keep your identity hidden from everyone. Obviously you can tell any single person or group of people in private of your role. This is entirely your call. Just be aware that there will be consequences for violating the rules of the game; consequences in accordance with whatever current rule violation punishments happen to be. If you get unlucky and tell a wolf, they benefit from turning you in right away to a degree, and likewise, if you tell an honest human player, they'd turn you in right away. Yes, there are a few exploits if you happen to get the bookie role, these have already been address and discussed with FoJar and others. This is working on faith alone, people, nothing else. If you want to abuse known exploits of the game setup for higher chanes of a win, be prepared to face a multi-game ban.
Note @ Iggy: I'm not sure if you were confused on the role of the seer or not. Your post mentioning it reads like you think the seer is helping the humans by finding reds. This is not the case. The role is the tainted seer. He is on the wolf's side and wins if the wolves win. The humans can win without lynching him. He knows no roles at the start of the game other than his own and his "visions" are intended to lead him to the wolves and feed them information on the humans (identity of blues) so that they may apply it in their favor. Thusly, stalling the game out with a guarded bookie does favor the tainted seer, because he has more time to find the wolves, but it also helps the wolves in the fact that the tainted seer is going to be spotting blues quite frequently with the number of special roles in this game, and the wolves will likely act accordingly. I hope this clears up any confusion you might have had, assuming you intended you post how I read it. Take care.

Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
You do realize that the tainted seer only needs to find 1 red... right? and has a 75% chance of getting a real red when he seers a red.

Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
Um, yeah?! I was pointing the information on the seer and bookie out for Iggy and those of you who think the game can be noticably broken through one or both of the roles. I'm well aware that the seer is going to be a powerful tool for the reds, this is why the millers were placed in.

Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
Also, since I want to play, if no one else wants to run for host then just let fojar do it. I want sign up and a game to start soon.
So, tass, if no one else plans on giving you new ideas by your host voting deadline, you all have permission to cut me out of the hosting and let fojar run his game so something will start soon. |

Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
Yea. So that leaves myself/Whorli and Guido/Panda....
and with Guido banned, it leaves only Whorli and I. And if asked, the two of us wouldn't have any problem not discussing TWG in person. It doesn't change the fact that I know her personality better than anyone. But, so yea... if we have trouble reaching 22 people, Fojar has said he would consider letting Whorli in

Re: TWG XXXVI - Host Signups
Player Signups will be SATURDAY (cause I'm a whore and won't be around much at all tomorrow)...
With 22, we can do THREE signups... Lets say 7 at 1pm, 8 at 5pm, 7 at 11pm. All times EST. DO NOT SIGN UP IF YOU WILL NOT BE ACTIVE... I'M SO ****ING SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. I WILL MAKE SURE YOU ARE THROWN OUT OF THE USERGROUP IF YOU ARE AN INACTIVE LITTLE BITCH FOR THE UMTEENTH TIME.
