"finaaal's" cheat?

About an hour ago my cousin "finaaal" randomly googled for his name and "ffr" and some weird stuff popped up about people accusing others of using that particular cheat and stuff.

What the...?

I just want to get one thing straight here: I wrote the cheat and for as far as I know it has not been spread any further than my cousin finaaal, who later sent it to Synthlight, who in turn updated FFR so the cheat doesn't work anymore (an update to dark mode, I apologize for that, I never thought a cheat like this would have such an impact). I must admit that I had updated the cheat so it works again, but really, I'm pretty sure it has not been uploaded or spread.

I never meant any harm when I wrote the cheat. I just wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. And to my cousin, of course, who showed me the game in the first place... That was stupid apparently, or rather, he was stupid enough to use it on a large scale and actually upload youtube videos of it. Good for him that he's been succesfully IP-banned.

Now, I don't mind if I get banned for this, I have it coming. In fact, I PMed Synthlight about banning my account, but he was kind enough to merely remove my scores. What I don't want, is other people to be falsely accused of using it and being banned for it. The reason I'm posting this now is because my cousin told me there was some sort of flash update which screwed up all the FFR memory hacks; or, pretty much all other cheats. And because I didn't have the guts to, before.

If the cheat has been spread for some reason beyond explaination, I've included a screenshot of the only version that still works. If anyone has seen this program available for download anywhere, please post the location here and I'll try to have it removed.

Most people probably would've had no idea had finaaal not AAA'd Pants with it. Even without that, he had like 100 AAA's in a day and clearly exposed himself.

I don't think you should be punished for making the code, but anyone using it should be punished. The only other person we ever suspected of using your code was Solomine Gray who also sighthread AAA'd a lot of songs in a very short amount of time, and was also active right around the time finaaal was. Do not misunderstand me though, I said suspect. We don't know for certain, but her disappearance from the site after finaaal was banned made us wonder. There may be others, but their presence is unknown because they haven't done anything miraculous with it.

No one knows for sure, but the best thing to do is honestly delete the code. Don't even have the temptation, and since you're the progenitor you have responsibility for what happens to it - i.e. if it gets spread.
