bury of the hatchet: fairly lengthy song, but it's good for what it is
OP 10 number something: lol people overreacted I think - it's not that bad...although the jacks are at the end, the song isn't too long
RAN: I judged this file, but I don't recall the file being THIS hard...I think if the file had its difficulty rated correctly, people would not scream out in terror as much

Random idea/question: is it possible to make a token for the final song in this event that requires you to get a positive score on the other 20 songs released for FFRmas 2010?

So you're basically asking everyone to play every xmas song? Assuming not everyone is following this event, it's kind of a tall order - for the casual player. Also, in the future, these songs will probably be assimilated into the game and people will forget that they were songs specifically for this event.

It's also a tall order to get a positive score on every song, or FC 99% of the in-game songs. I just figured that with a 21-song dump there could be at least one token, and that was one suggestion that I had. Besides, just getting a positive score means you can mash your way a few arrows in and quit out, if you so choose.

I guess my main concern is whether the token will retain its meaning long after this event has ended. People might wonder why one has to play these 21 songs. If tokens actually had titles, and not token #35 (unlocks song X), #36 (unlocks song XX), etc. then it would be possible to make more sense out of the token's goals (e.g. "XMAS 2011 token: play the songs introduced during the Christmas 2011 event" as opposed to "Song XXX: Play these 21 songs". Newer users in the future wouldn't know the point of playing these 20 songs.).

It's also good for nostalgia, though: "Oh yeah, those were the songs from FFRmas 2010! I remember sitting in front of my monitor on a cold winter's night getting ****ING RAGE-Y AT CLOCKWORK AND SCREAMING ABOUT RAN!" etc.

yeah I agree with qqwref on today's songs. These are just a mess... what the hell is going on with step charts nowadays .... Einstein, RAN, .... what's next?

I like Bury The Hatchet, by far the best file today.

In all seriousness, people need to stop stepping "harder" songs and maybe keep it up to 10s or what not. Sorry Megamon buddy, RAN is just ridiculous.

Sorry to scintill too, stupid jacks are stupid. :/ kbye

D:

Op. 10 No. 9. This is my favorite chopin etude, why'd you have to go and ruin it. It's so much more than a silly jumpstream file.

Those jacks aren't supposed to be anywhere near that fast anyway, bad choice on performance.

(but i really shouldn't talk)

well i guess it was okay , if i would have to give some notes or places i'd say :
1.Bury The Hatchet (by far the best today)
2.OP10 No9 (its okay, playable, but the jacks at the end are .. well.. i dont feel like this should be there in this song ..)
3.RAN , first half was pretty entertaining and fun in playing , but the mid sucks so hard .. seriously, i know its hard to step songs , but sometimes less arrows in some parts are a better choice, than trying to catch up every single beat/instrument / noise / voice or what so ever.
I felt like playing a part of RATO..., sorry but that was a grab into the trashcan..

Ypu guys are overreacting. I AAA'd OP fairly easily and will AAA Bury The Hatchet soon enough. RAN is a great file overall, it should just be a FGO.

For the record, I like Einstein too. I hated it at first, but the most I play it, the more I like it.

Having only files that flow and have no sort of spikes/awkward patterns makes the rest of the game boring. There needs to be files that counter-balance these really nicely flowing files.

RAN is a damn hard file, and I expressed some dislike at first, but I actually have come to enjoy the file, despite the insane difficulty spike straight down the middle of the chart. It's nice to have a challenge once in a while, and the chart does its job as a 1.) proper and plausible interpretation of the music and 2.) a difficult and tough to score on file.

Op. 10 No.9 might be draggy to some people, but the file has great relevance to the song. FFR needs more classical music. The file does the song justice - sure, it difficulty spikes with the mega-jacks, but you know what, it does a great job portraying the shift in intensity within the music. I saw a few judges give this a [+] in their reviews, and I would have done the same. I enjoy this file a lot.

EDIT: RAN might be an FGO. Someone with a strong jack/trill skillset should probably take another look at this.

Yep, no one is never satisfied, there always has to be an argument about something.

Also, i would stay something else but it'll just cause more drama so I'll just leave it as that lol

When people can't explain why the thing is bad (not just because you can't do or only bad for you) and how to make it better, their complaints don't make sense.

That's all.

That's the reason why I cross-posted my post from the Queue/Batch thread. People aren't making legitimate arguments as to why they dislike the file(s).

Is there going to be a rating change on Bury the Hatchet? Song is a bit too easy for an 11.

I don't like any files because I can't score well on them. I can't do jacks, jumpstream, anything. All I can do is one-handed trills.

That's what years of classical piano do for you. Make you subpar at an online flash game.

Well, you're a judge, you should understand that, sometimes, you dislike something in the file. And it's not because the judges accepted a file that we have to like everything on it, and I believe there are rejected files that would please a good part of the community. And, as a judge, you know that, sometimes, you comment the file based on your skills, like "I don't like this jack" or "That burst is cool", and it's a misleading opinion, because you're judging something based on your experience, not what the file, or anything else, really is.

Just for the record: As I stated before, I did like RAN, despite of that jumpjack. I just raged at a bad rating. If you rate a file 1 rank below or higher of what it really is, then you'll start to make more mistakes like that, until you have a damn mess, where FN-status files are rated as VCs, and relatively easy files are rated as FMOs, or even FGOs. It's just my opinion, anyway.
