Fun Contest Idea?

So, all of us FFR Veterans know that upon becoming a Veteran, we get some good stuff, and at least a little respect.

FFR (The Game) looks nice and everything, but still a little dull. I think (With the admin's approval, of course) we should hold a contest in which people (Veteran or not), could create "Skins" or backrounds for FFR The Game. We could probably take the top 5 designs, and those winners would receive X Credits, FFR Veteran Title (If they don't have it, and this is optional, Admins feel free to take out this reward), and maybe something else that the admins might have on their mind.

I'm up for discussion, thoughts?

Oh crap, I forgot to mention I not only have no designing skill, I don't have any tools for it. But I'd be happy to pitch in some credits for the winners. :3

EDIT: If you're asking for ideas, I suggest not just changing the color, but maybe putting in a theme (I.E. Flames, Forest, things like that.) would be a good idea, also, we should always have the option to change the skins whenever we like, including back to the original if we feel the need.

ALSO, I think the winners (If they're not Veterans), should be allowed to choose between the skins as well. People wouldn't want to make a skin they may never see again if it get's accepted.

*Sigh* Sorry for the triple post, but I'm bumping too at least get people to talk about this.

I think the legacy should be zoomed in a little bit if we're going to put in skins, that way everything will be easier to see, and it won't be as messy.

Skinning the old engines is on the verge of impossible, though it might be more likely in BlackWebb.

Mainly because all you have to do to make BW look different is change the colors & BG, seeing as how there's not much else?

Velocity engine is basically a skin over the legacy engine anyways. Making skins for flash content is basically impossible if it isn't set up for it in the first place (which it isn't). If BlackWebb is coded with that in mind, then it would be possible with that engine.

I'd love to see different themes/skins in game.

Also, I KEEP HEARING ABOUT THIS BLACKWEBB! It intrigues me to the extreme, I MUST have teasers, features, expectations on it's capabilities, customization, etc!
This is like listening to Blizzard talk about the Burning Crusade when it was being waved around like candy. D:

Check the main suggestions thread for a screenshot. The gameplay should look and feel the same, but everything around it should be completely different and much better, ideally.

I'm glad this came up as an idea from someone in the community. I wanted to hold a 'skinning' competition, but designing a game to look and work well is extremely difficult.

You guys can start designing whatever you want. Don't work to hard on details if you do it in photoshop. It needs to be vector in its final form.

This is not a formal confirmation or rejection of this idea. I don't have the right to just 'start' a competition without approval of everyone else, but I'd really like to see what you dedicated FFRers can do. :P

Sketching or photoshops are welcome, but don't waste too much time on it expecting a reward for it. I can't guarantee anything unless ap gives the go ahead for it.

Oh and knowing what BW looks like already would be important. Have fun finding it.

If someone makes anything, I suggest you do it in flash itself, cause it makes it THAT much easier to port into the engine.
