Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
You guys try too hard to have a specific position on the fretboard. Just set up in second position at the beginning (RYBO) and go with the flow.
The new hyperspeed levels make me so happy, I can actually read solo stuff on hyperspeed 4 (I'll try to get up to 5 eventually).

Another week and you'll be like David Briers. I'm kind of addicted to my style of play.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
On the debate of proper hand positioning, I would suggest just getting used to playing in second position with your index finger on the red fret and only moving back when there is a number of greens in a phrase. That will get you more comfortable with using the orange fret.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
**** Raining Blood. I hate that song, but only because I can't beat it yet. I got past that first part that everyone was having trouble with, somehow without star power because I messed up on an easy part. Anyways, Failed soon after because I was too surprised that I passed the first part that I wasn't ready for the next one. I might be able to pass this by the end of the day if I keep working on it.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I can nail the first mosh pretty well, hitting like... 80% of the notes every time, but it's the second mosh that screws me up. Which is terrible, I'm just not very good at fast chords at all. Not at all.

I have not bought GHIII yet, I will buy soon.
So I decided to play some GHII. I beat my old Thunderhorse score by a huge amount, new score=180078. |

I was on expert by my second day though 8) 8) Too bad I don't have GH3 yet. I'm pretty sure like, my mom bought it for me and isn't going to give it to me until Christmas. And since I've already 5 starred everything in GH2 I probably won't be playing much for awhile D: Though, I did get 99% on six and 89% on Jordan. Once I have some harder songs to play I'll dominate this game 8) And uh, yea, your default hand position should be with your index finger on the red. You will run into terrible problems with streams of notes if you, like me, get used to leaving your index on the green fret.

Ok, I passed Raining Blood. Got the beginning down pretty well and then somehow passed the end without star power. Anyways, I now hate Lou because he's a little bitch. 1 more song...

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I started playing some stuff on expert the first day I played. Not well, but I passed some songs. I used to keep my pointer on green. Bad idea, but really not a hard habit to break. Just do whatever gets you by, really. Anchoring on red will definitely be the way to go down the road, though.
Does anyone else not play with hyperspeed? |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I don't play with hyperspeed, but that's only because I don't know how to turn it on. I would prefer to play with it on, as that's how I played GH2. But as of right now, I don't think it is really affecting my play.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Ok, I just found out what the Hyperspeed code was, so I'm gonna try to beat Raining Blood now.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I am too. It'd be okay if the syncage was consistent between songs but it's not even close (Neversoft needs to get Blurk up in there )
