That's one of the larger problems I have with most religions. God is supposed to be loving and compassionate, but if he is, why is there so much suffering in the world and terrible things going on?

The only things christians (and other religious people) can ever tell me are things like...

"I don't know"
"God has a plan for everyone"
"God works in mysterious ways"
"He is angry because people sin"
"He is angry because people don't believe in Him"

Is God really so egocentric that he needs a lot of people to blindly follow the word written in a book? Is he really so "loving" that he kills those who he believes aren't worthy? Some say we just don't understand but there are good reasons for suffering to happen, but I don't believe that is true. Suffering is the ultimate bad. To cause suffering is the ultimate evil. Therefore, if God allows people to suffer when he could just as easily snap his fingers and create a paradise, God must be evil.

now that i think about it... it would probably feel really horible to loose your faith in something... but i guess that better than ignorance...

does anyone have a question about evolution or notice any weak points in the theory at all?

OMG! OMG! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I TELL PEOPLE!!

CHRISSI YOU PWN! I AM SORRY FOR EVER PISSING YOU OFF!!

YOU ARE THE MOST INTELLIGENT PERSON ON FFR!

Well, it makes sense. Another excuse Religious people give is

''Everything happens for a reason.''

And the whole ''heaven'' thing is another reason why Christianity sounds like
it was made by a crazy cult leader person. People in cults think that there is a Eutopia
And we will all go to a special place when we die.

Yes, if there is a huge Eutopia beyond death, then why get a job?
As long as your ''good'' you will go to heaven.

It sounds so stupid.

No, I don't have any questions. I believe it and there is so much proof that it is real.

Tugz, I have a challenge for you. Try never using the word "stupid" or any of its synonyms (idiotic, retarded, dumb, etc) in this thread, or in Critical Thinking, again.

:\ I'm serious. Everything you say sounds about 100 times more convincing if you refrain from using insults.

When you insult others, what you are saying is "I need to put you down to make myself feel better. If I make you look stupid enough, people will start to believe me instead of you. And I think I can make you look stupid by calling you stupid."

Now, if your points are good enough, they should stand on their own without name-calling.

Besides, it's just rude.
