Re: TWG CVI: Postgame
Dude, after that game, I should hope you won't stop playing, Kayla. I really want to get into a game with you, haha.
And thanks for the clarification. It was something that had confused me and I wanted to bring it up. |

Re: TWG CVI: Postgame
Okay I have some time, so it's about time I post my thoughts on everything... I'll be short and to the point.
- I really enjoyed hosting this game, I hope you all enjoyed it. I wanted to boost player activity in the way I set up this game, seemed like it kinda worked. - As Emerald brought up, yes that auto-kill mechanic was kinda broken. However, it was hilarious to see. Also, quick games are not always a bad thing. - In regards to the 2 people in the same household rule, I think it's appropriate to adjust that rule. As TPS said, it's a bit more relaxed now and I have no problem letting that rule slide. Also, the Anon factor really did help with that. - In regards to mod-killing Velo, I really hated doing that. They were mistakes, and the problem was even though it was an accident, it still really messed with the game mechanics... - I'd like to push a new rule effective next game. AFK out of 1 game (for whatever reason) = 2 game ban penalty (or 2 game sub requirement) AFK out of 2 games = 4 game ban penalty ...something along those lines. I don't want to be the only voice in this, but this NEEDS to be a rule for next game please. Like Afro said it perfectly, if you might not be able to play, DON'T SIGN UP AT ALL.

Re: TWG CVI: Postgame
I don't think the rule about real-life folk playing together needs to be thrown out or even changed. It's not "outdated"; it's perfectly valid, ESPECIALLY when no out-of-thread communication is allowed. Obviously the honor system can work for it still, so I'm not saying it can't work. I've even played in games alongside people I know in real life. However, the rule should stand and each host should be responsible for making the choice of whether they want to allow it or not.

I am lenient on this rule untill it is abused and adversly hinders a game. Once that happens, I will enforce the rule from then onward. If you and Halogen can be responsible about it and no issues arise then I am fine with letting you both play in the same game. I've had problems in the past with IRL freinds knowing other people's accounts/passwords, or leaving half drafted PMs up on their computer only for the other person to hop on the computer and see it which ends up destroying the wolf team. As long as the IRL aspect isn't used to get an advantage outside of what the other players in the game are capable of, I see no problem.

also, though, remember that you already know who your teammates are; humans don't. you might pick up on more of their tells because you have all of the knowledge, and that can be a tell in itself. |

Re: TWG CVI: Postgame
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I've been hitting myself for the past few days.
I was first on the replacements list and was playing along, my phase-one wolf reads being the US, France, and Germany ... but seeing Mexico getting beat down (whose posts were looking very human to me, but maybe only because I had suspicion on US and France) and the sorry state of the town (thanks Velo for giving the town their only wolf kill for a while) made me not want to play in that environment. (Totally forgot Mexico could be the vengeful nation and would want to get lynched.) But, so, yeah, I told Xiz I wasn't totally interested in playing anymore and somehow convinced myself that no one would want to get replaced ... so I ended up talking with dAnceguy and learned all the wolves. And then Xiz came to me asking for a replacement, but, yeah, I knew too much. But then the group title changed to Japan being replaced, and I was like, wait, I could have subbed in as a wolf! ... I was still reading along though, aaand then later, I was told the identity of the masons (even though it wasn't hard to figure out, Russia/Derek guessed it, I should have told dAnce not to tell me anything more) and couldn't sub in for Sweden. So ... Yeah. I was just sitting here going crazy the whole time. I really, really wanted to shake things up. Learned now never to cave in when I'm on the replacements list, though, so that's helpful. Anyway, really excited for getting to play in the next game, whatever it ends up being. The anonymous game worked as a good introduction for newcomers. Maybe concurrent jTWGs could start again if there will be that many new players. Though maybe I wish games were smaller and shorter just 'cause I'm aching to play, haha. |

Re: TWG CVI: Postgame
Let me get a headcount of interested players. If we've got 24+ Active players I'll re-open Jtwg.
Then we can have two 12 player games going.

Re: TWG CVI: Postgame
I'm opposed to using the jTWG label; would rather have two concurrent games open to everyone

Re: TWG CVI: Postgame
Tokzic and I play in the same games all the time, and though we don't live together anymore, we do hang out frequently, and it's never been a problem. I even managed to not ask him if he was playing in this game! I don't think it is much different than not allowing other out-of-thread talk, just gotta trust that people will be honest.
Also js I would've killed V too eventually. It was sooooooo obviously V (trying to pretend to be Fiction at times?) that I would've wanted to guess just because I know I would've got it right. I also liked this game length. It was short without being too short, or maybe it just felt short compared to the last super-long one. I'd be down for some 12-player games though! |

I liked it being a fast game as well. I also just really enjoyed how this game was setup. I know the guessing was a little crazy but it was fun for me to investigate and try to figure out ways to find out who people were. |

If the whole IP-checking thing was a serious remark, I'll just back off from these games so there's no speculation about it anymore. It's pretty obvious that Kayla is quite good at the game herself and I have a lot of other things I could be doing on the site anyway. |

Re: TWG CVI: Postgame
If IP-checking was involved, it's fairly easy to know due to actions like that being logged. That being said, it's limited to mods who should know better.

I personally am not worried about the IP check ability for three reasons: 1) It's only a problem in these anon games, and they're hosted infrequently at best. 2) Personally I feel like we do a good enough job with moderator selection on the forums that we don't need to question the integrity of our moderators for something silly like advantage in a forum game. 3) You and Velo are the only ones with access to such things and you both died D1 without namekilling anyone. It's pretty obvious there was no cheating going on.
