Haruhi is basically turning into K-ON with their ever-constantly changing character designs.

Yeah but Higurashi had significant plot changes and character development each time around.

Endless Eight had pretty much the same thing over and over.

I know there's a slight difference, but I consider the Haruhi time-loop more of a gimmick for attention, rather than actual creativity.

Seriously, repeating something to it's death is beyond stupid. They practically wasted the entire new season on that.

Are you kidding me, it's not a gimmick for attention, and even if it was, it's a downright stupid way of getting attention, because all the attention they're getting is 100% negative views on the Endless Eight, and they will receive Endless Criticism for creating Endless Eight.




Honestly have you ever seen an anime which airs the same thing for 8 episodes IN A F*CKING ROW?

Higurashi didn't "do" it, Higurashi's WHOLE PLOT is based upon an ever recurring world, in which the characters eventually.. weave out of it [spoilers hehe.]

But Haruhi (nor any other recent anime as a matter of fact) isn't meant to do this.. they are supposed to be -- one way, straightforward, but KyoAni f*cked everything up.


Therefore, Endless Eight is simply, a failure to make rational decisions on KyoAni's part.

Especially after many of the other posts I've put in this thread.

And if you didn't... and just felt like ranting, then towards the "gimmick" thing:
It wasn't a stupid way to get attention. Just look at this thread. There's already 4 pages talking about the whole 8 ordeal (not to mention what lies on the rest of the internet). They got what they wanted, and even if many people disliked it, many are still going to watch it.

It's like kyoani tried to take a leaf out of Higurashi's book, but accidentally dropped it in a portable toilet and decided to keep using it anyway.

I like the whole idea of Endless Eight, it's just that they really ****ed it up. The episodes ended up being the same thing over and over and ****ing over again with minimal development each time around.

I haven't read the novels, is this faithful to them? Because maybe this is just adaption decay.
