yes. mental bonuses will last the length of the tournament, unless otherwise noted.

Well, if the first mental bonus is using the clue that I think it's using for a basic starting point to the entire puzzle, I should be able to figure it out without random assumptions.

"Len and Mel combined are the same age as Ned will be next year."
Do i add Len and Mel's age, or multiply?

ps heehee the puzzle was kind of hard... Tass, IM me if there was a really easy way to solve it because it sure as hell is not the way I found the answer.

It's just a system of equations. Only way to solve them is brute-force substitution.
