Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I know this score means absolutely nothing except to the like 2 people I have showed this file to but I'm still proud of it lol
D2 has the best finals chart hands down. I can't stop playing it, sooooooo much fun.

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
Phalanx seems like a really dickish FMO as opposed to an FGO
As dense and long as the jump(hand)stream may be, it's only 160 bpm. Makiba's around the same speed and many were arguing it's more fitting as a VC. Far less dense, I know, but the increased density in Phalanx doesn't really warrant that FGO push imo. /$0.02 Last edited by One Winged Angel; 02-28-2012 at 10:42 PM.. |

In theory the rolls are mid-FGO material, in practice people just jumptrill them and hope for the best. Ya I did. Won't be doing that again huehuehue No I'm just joking. Skillboosts happen and you get to reap the rewards of said skillboost until the end of this tournament. Don't get complacent though!

It's a borderline FMO/FGO and I always rate high on borderline files. Less whining about it that way. Subjective manias are subjective and all that.

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I just addressed this in a PM and figured I'd post it in the thread as well:
As for the difficulty jump in D2, Lacrimosa wound up being harder than I expected. I wanted to go difficulties of 9, 10, 11 in D2 but yeah the 10 sort of got skipped. Next round is a very low 11 as well, then a high 10, then a mid 11 for the D2 finals. At least that's how it is shaping up so far. I've learned that difficulties for D1 and D2 files are really hard for me to judge so sometimes I wind up going way too high or low. It's one of the things I need to improve on should I ever do another tournament.

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
You absurdly good mother ****ers. I was gonna post a place holder of my sightread serious play but these seriously diminished my hopes.
PS: I expected this to be dumpy. I did not expect them to reek of such filth. You must have taken a lesson from NVLM or Dossar cause this is seriously disgusting to look at. And the sad thing is, I'll still be wasting my time playing it. This probably comes off meaner than I intend it, but seriously? This is a borderline 13 and we're only D4. Cut us some slack. |

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
Improvement again. I'm getting really close to sub 100 goods on this. Best I've got for now. I need to figure out how to nail those bursts into the hand jacks, that parts extremely hard. I'll go try d4s file now, hope I don't die >.<

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
Slighty better... On a side note, I FC World Tour 2004 today with 59 goods which gave me 2/5 tier points on that song. That's my first song with 2 tier points, I'm very happy about that and I wasn't expecting to make that score tonight. |

It's only 160 bpm, that's slower than most FMO JS files, the only FGO worthy parts are really the rolls and the 32nd stream bursts. As for the chart itself, Carlos brought up that the handstream patterns could have flowed better, which is honestly true. They're not terrible, but they do have some long hidden 8th jacks that I should have broken up better. The layering scheme is consistent and pretty easy to understand- jumps to the melody, hands to the loud drums, stream to the hi-hats. The 48ths are in fact correctly synced and the framers are literally perfect for jumptrilling. The first 48th roll has a somewhat difficult ending transition but that was done purposefully (it fits the music). I can't really think of anything else you'd complain about... it's not a masterpiece file sure, but I don't think it's quite as bad as you are making it out to be

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
So right now I am having a ton of trouble getting a good file for D3 next round.
I've gone through three options so far and none of them are to my tastes. First one was too similar to the finals chart so I decided not to use it. Second one felt weird the way I layered it but I couldn't come up with anything else, so I scrapped it. Third one I just trashed because it was too easy, a mid 10 wouldn't cut it for D3 this late in the tournament. JUST LETTING YOU GUYS KNOW I SUFFER FOR MY ART D:
