Re: "Play/Test/Judge my simfile" thread
Hi. I attempted to make a file to a piece of a music I once randomly wrote (thinking of making a much longer version though). It's very short, and my first file. There aren't any holds or special things like that, just very simple.
If anyone wants to try it: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...p?songid=28889 For some reason Resonance doesn't have the music in it working [yet] but just the steps, but you can download it and the music works in SM. =P

Re: "Play/Test/Judge my simfile" thread
"Mississippi Queen" Stepfile URL:
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...p?songid=29001 I uploaded my steps to Mountain's "Mississippi Queen" for Stepmania. The steps are played to the lead guitar parts (as most of my "rock" files are) and is only avaible in singles and Heavy/Hard mode. The difficulty scale would be an average 9/10 (DDR style). Should you notice any problems (i.e. BPM, out-of-sync and the like) just notify me. Please send feedback and test as soon as possible, enjoy! BTW, sorry that there's no banner or background for this song... "Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle" Stepfile URL: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...p?songid=29002 The lengendary metal-band "Dethklok" now has a song avaible for Stepmania. The song: Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle. The only difficulty is "Hard/Heavy" and you play the steps to the lead guitar part. The only challenging part of the song is Skwisgaar's solo (hard by default!). If you notice any problems, please notify me. Play-test this song and send feedback as soon as possible! Again, there is no banner or background, sorry! More to come later! My main problems with this chart are: 1. It's basically the expert chart from guitar hero 3 only mangled around. This isn't guitar hero, be innovative. Step the drums too, step the vocals too. 2. When you're stepping the guitar with the jumps ala guitar hero 3's expert chart you can't seem to decide how to arrange them. They should all be ABBBB but you change it seemingly randomly; keep it consistent. Also, no step flow. You use patterns that would lead to cross-overs or double stepped if played on a pad as often as you don't. It's awkward, try not to. Quote:
Difficulty level is extremely disproportionate. If you're going to throw in those huge 32nd bursts, make the rest of the file similarly difficult to match; layer, jumpstream, work in the drums, whatever. Again, this is not guitar hero on expert mode, you do not have to step the lead guitar exactly as it is in the song and do nothing else.

It's inconsistent both between repeats and within repeats and also steps inaccurately and misses out on interesting sounds. I'll...look, in place of a critique I'll step it real quickly. EDIT: Hmm, looks like it's a nonconstant bpm song.

One and a half hours later... (rassle frassle loving gosh darnit nonconstant bpms)
http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q0...Y1NubHhjR0E9PQ (play the heavy, the charts you made are now offsync beccause I resynced it) I stopped where I did because, well, you should get the idea from there. This is not necessarily the way TO step it, I'm just showing off some of the patterns and sounds in the song and how I would at least make a start on it.

Could any of you please test this stepchart, I've been making some stepcharts for some time now, but never had anyone really critique me on them. Thanks in advance :3 Anyways, song info: Mercenarios de Lobo, by DZComposer. Heavy only and rated 10 difficulty, and is classical. |

Re: "Play/Test/Judge my simfile" thread
Everyone. I have a new file that i'm pretty sure is really well made. but i don't want to get too cocky, so i need feedback.
Song: "The Nintendo Concerto (Part 1)" Made For: Keyboard Difficulty: Heavy I made this song myself, and i made it so the bpm doesn't change, beacause that pisses me the f*ck off. it stay 150 bpm throughout the song. This song is a giant medley of different nintendo songs put one after another in transition to make a complete song. i don't think it actually is a concerto, but i have a pension for catchy, memorable titles. This is only the first one, there are two more, i just haven't stepped them yet. Feedback is appreciated, which means: give me feedback, man! Thank You. Here's the damn link: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...9209&dc=107232 Well, there you go... EDIT: PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT FOR SM...it's better on there. Re: "Play/Test/Judge my simfile" thread
hiii i'll test some files.
That's What You Get (MrPopadopalis25) 6/10 I don't think this song is constant because rock songs usually aren't :-\. Try stepping stuff that is constant next time. Even though the entire file wasn't technically correct or anything, I found it fun. The minifreezes were a little strange but that's ok. Happy Rainbow (Ravia) 7/10 I enjoyed this. Couple things though; You would use a 16th jack on the percussion noise in the beginning, but in other parts of the file, you used a 16th trill instead. Either way, the jack probably wasn't necessary. The PR was close enough and the file itself felt a little freeform. The 32nd trill wasn't needed either and it kind of breaks the flow you had on the file. Good job though. |
