how are you right?
saying people rely on the waveform is a huge assumption and says nothing about the quality of the program

holy shit shut up with these assumptions already because they're completely wrong <_<

stop generalizing a small group of people with those who actually know how to use DDS properly

so is relying too much on everything you hear on a very low rate

which you can do that with the sm editor too

get out

please keep ddream vs sm discussion out of this thread. there really isn't a need for it here.

Turn Back The Time (Wafles) - REJECTED
- keep in mind that this particular verdict wasn't one i made lightly. i put a lot of thought into it.
- 25.79s: 32nd is 16th
- 34.32s: same pitch as previous
- 51.12s: these are just 16ths, although theres chopiness that happens in the yellow note, you could step it as a gallop after the yellow note but it's not 24ths
- 73.06s: just 16ths like 51.12s
- 86.66s: 24th?
- 92.95s: just 16ths
- there might be some more things that i missed, but i wanted to get this review done sooner rather than later
- some hold usage seemed wishy washy. you have two note holds going to bass guitar notes that were one note holds before. if it's based on emphasis, then it's somewhat ambiguous.
- the song itself doesn't quite offer enough in the way of variety. there is a lot of 16th note triples but not really much of anything else in terms of patterning.

WOBBLE IMPACT (Razor) - CONDITIONAL
- i already talked to you on skype about general technical errors that need to be fixed.
- key matching could be better. you have different sounds that are on the same column.
- patterning in general feels lazy. there is a lot of left hand bias.
- i would step some more of the background music. leaving it out could make for an additional easier file along with some other changes.

The Hero (Razor) - REJECTED
- pr is really weak and i think you can do a lot better
- noticeable copy/paste is a huge strike against this file
- it's just not that interesting and i don't think a better cut would do much
- there is going to be several dubstep files in this pack already so subsequent ones are going to have to be exceptional. this file unfortunately doesn't make the cut.

EDIT: i'll get to revisions that people have sent either tonight or tomorrow

low rate does not equal looking at noise spikes

anyways might have another file for this

cool, look forward to it

and can you look over this: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...4&postcount=61, particularly for Taiyou Iwaku Moeyo chaos, because even though the file is good and acceptable as is, it'd be nice if you could look at the guitar solo again.

25.79s - Yes, duno why I did that as a 32nd.
34.32s - fixed
51.12s/73.06s - Yeah this works a little better as a slightly galopped jump
86.66s - was attempting to put this to the sort of slide that happens on the bass but it didnt work out that well. took it out

I did go a little crazy on the holds I agree but I did find some of the jump/holds really satisfying for some parts.

Kind of bummed you don't think the song is interesting enough. The rythms are rarely complicated but I thought this song was pretty unique for a drum and bass song and I did think that the chart wasn't that straight forward.

Should I bother submitting a fixed up version? I'm not overly surprised by reject because this is a file I just had lying around from a while ago that I thought maybe had some potential but eh, its cool if you disagree.

it was definitely borderline for sure. i'd say fix it up still but wait until another pack comes along. i wouldn't mind looking at it again after you revise it but i don't think my opinion is going to change.

Agreed and disagreed.

I use the wave forms to sync, but then use trial and error to do all the actual stepping. I prefer to use DDReam for stepping because once I knew all the shortcuts I found I liked it better than using SM. It was quicker to change rates, quicker to note snap (with more variety than what SM had at the time) and just I had a lot more control without setting it up per file in the options menu I can do it just in the file while I go along.

I rarely use the redwave filter. I hate that POS. I use it only when super stuck.

Also I sent in that easier file I had been considering. I'm actually really curious of thoughts on it.

I'll polish it up and save it for another pack I suppose. Maybe ffrcp5 will happen eventually or something

i really really dunno if you've got the kinda klout to be doin a glove-style pack but considering this is the only really big active pack right now i might have a few files to throw at this
been sitting on a bunch of unreleased files for the past 6 months lmao

might finish that streetlight manifesto file wc and i started back during odi3 oops

completely fair point and i thought i would give it a shot since there hasn't been a pack like this since odi3. i know it's a lofty goal i have set for myself considering i have never ran a pack before but i am fairly confident that i can make something that at least somewhat meets my own and everybody else's expectations. nobody will know until it's released i guess and it's going to have to involve trust that i will do what i need to do to make a proper pack.

btw i'm not dead as far as this pack is concerned, i just haven't had much time the past few days
