The reason why there's no "ladder" ranking is because they are trying to keep the players anonymous. There is no user name unless you are playing with friends. While playing online, you will be known as either P1, P2, P3, or P4.

Also, I really wish that nintendo iniated some sort of ranking system.

I really hate how they are keeping everyone anonymous.

For one, I'm glad that there's no ranking system because whenever there's a ranking system, people play competitively and it will ruin the game. If I want to play with strangers, I want to play for fun, not because I need to perform well or anything.

It also forces people to play with their friends because more than likely, your friends will be good too and if they are not, repeated playing with them will help them get better at the game.

They should have a competitive ladder and an option to play anonymous so that it is "fun". Although that is not FUN to me.

Are we going to be able to actually play those games on Brawl, or are the bosses from those games going to be in there to fight?

I'm pretty sure they are just game demos.

I believe they are game demos. Or at least some of them are demos while others are the full thing. Who knows.

Probably demos since the virtual console charges money for the actual game and all. This game has enough content as it is, though.

@Gamer: That's been the plan, yeah. I've said before I only play online games with people I know, and since all of my friends will be mooching off of my copy of the game (seeing as they don't have a Wii), I won't have any real-life friends to be playing with.

The idea is just to post the 12-digit code in this thread the day we all get the game. Which, for me, might not be until mid to late March depending on this rumor about quantities of shipments of the game. I've had it pre-ordered since October, but who knows how many people are ahead of me in line.

This could be bad because I haven't pre-ordered a copy. Parents don't trust online game retailers. Golf online retailers are totally honest about everything, but certainly not games.
