Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Tier 7 is also the final Tier. I am fully aware of the significant increase in difficulty between tiers; especially from 4-7. I think it's even fair to say that it's possible to be able to 5* a Tier 1 song while at the same time having a hard time even passing a Tier 7 song. However, like you said earlier, Expert is basically a steriod version of Hard. I have a hard time believing it takes multiple months just to be able to beat the game on Expert once you've beat it on Hard. Even if all you can do is 3* all of Tier 7.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
There's a Tier 8. Tier 7 is the Japan show. Tier 8 is Hell.
Both shows suck with one exception: Cliffs of Dover. Shame it's in Tier 8. Tier 1 = Backyard Tier 2 = Moose Lounge Tier 3 = Video Shoot Tier 4 = UK Invasion Tier 5 = Prison Show Tier 6 = Desert Rock Tier 7 = Japan Tier 8 = Hell Eight tiers. By the way, I'm 5-starring Expert songs too. I still can't pass Tier 7 songs. It's absolutely ridiculous. I gave up a long time ago. I knew it wouldn't matter even if I could pass Knights of Cydonia and 3's & 7's because I'd still fail Stricken and Before I Forget. Until you can learn how to play split triples and swap between them in a fraction of a second, you cannot pass Tier 7 on expert. If you had trouble with Tier 6 songs but managed to flub your way through them, you will not pass Tier 7 songs. Unless you've been playing Guitar Hero since the first one, you will not pass Tier 7 songs. Here's why. Before I Forget: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49sRoiCGecI (I always fail at the 50-second mark in this video. I'm green going into the triples, yellow coming out of them, then red almost immediately after that.) Stricken: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ2MEX81X30 (Everywhere.) 3's & 7's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEhyRI4PjEQ (Immediately.) Knights of Cydonia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dieAKfSINhU (Sometimes I can pass the jacks on Expert. Sometimes not. I know I'd fail the made-up notes at the end of the song anyway. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, they're keyboard synths, not guitar notes. Stupid game =/) Now to Tier 8! Raining Blood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5j-8xmNyQM (The most retarded song in the game. Ever. Guess where I fail? Ugh. This doesn't even justify as music.) Oh wait Tier 8 is easier than Tier 7 imagine that. Cliffs of Dover is a walk in the park. One isn't hard at all. You can spend the first 4 minutes gathering Star Power and use it after the initial mash if you need to. I don't even need it anymore on Hard. The Number of the Beast has difficult parts, but nothing retarded. Everything is triples after the first verse, but no insane switchbacks like on Tier 7. It is, however, the only song I can see that has Green+Orange doubles. Ooh. Last edited by Squeek; 11-28-2007 at 02:31 AM.. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
All I have left is to 5* one on hard, which I'm probably really close to doing. And 5* 4 or 5 random songs on expert: raining blood, one, 3's and 7's, before i forget, maybe one more that I can't think of right now.

Bonus songs have some, along with triples with green and orange.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Squeek, I found Tier 7 pretty easy and my first GH game in June, so that's a bit of an overstatement.
Kekeb's right about Stricken - it's pretty bloody easy compared to the rest, and if you play it over and over you'll get it. Raining Blood is simply learning how to throw your hand down the fretboard really fast, then it becomes really easy. 3's and 7's becomes ridiculously easy if you practise the verse riff. Before I Forget is a bloody pain, but again, easy to do if you practise the two common riffs.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Ok, I have 5 starred all career songs on expert except for Raining Blood, which is a 3 star.
I also beat Lou. I also passed TDWDTG PS: @Squeek, I bought GHII in March, never played it in my life before then, started on Hard, and after 2 weeks, moved to expert. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
That's "a" guitar hero.
It really doesn't matter which one. Sorry that I made that distinction. The original guitar hero was ridiculously easy anyway. I was passing Expert songs within an hour of playing the game for the first time. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
wow so um i went to my local gaming area and play GH3 for like 2 hours passed KOC easily and got a 4* it was just at the end i couldn't keep a steady rhythm. tried one failed the first time b/c i didn't know how hard the solo was then i tried it again and right when i did start power at the really hard solo i failed. i wanted to try TDWDTG but they didn't have it nor did they have TTFAF, so yea this was all on expert so basically i cant wait for x-mas.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Eh...guess I am in that party that played barely any of 1, alot of 2, so 3 wasn't too hard for me. Expert wise, which is all I played so far, failed Before I forget once, rain blood 3x, one once, and the final boss alot cuz I couldnt get lucky with it...
Have yet to beat TTFAF....anyone got any tips on the intro? I know people can go 2 handed on it, but I can't get that down...at all. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
trust me man using 2 hands for the intro is the easiest way to do it, u have to use your elbow to hit the first note, your left hand to hold down green and hit red and yellow as they go by, and your right hand to hit blue and orange, thats what i do and it works pretty good.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I tap the intro with my left index and middle finger on Green and Red. Then with my right hand, index finger on yellow, middle finger on blue, and ring finger on orange. Strum with elbow
