Re: Cabal (not the old arcade game)
Wow, so auctioning off +4 and +5 items can bring in decent amounts of cash. Got 110k for a +5 Iron Armorsuit and 20k for a +4 Damascus Great Sword.
By the way, like my new sword? |

Re: Cabal (not the old arcade game)
Once I get this installed on my main computer I'll be on. But it seems like the game is temperamental with my laptop, it keeps blue screening me when I play it, or it randomly shuts the game off without warning.
Oh well, I have an account now, so add Loyal2Death.

Relam, that buddy list is old. Lvls have changed by now obviously, your place on it haven't.

Re: Cabal (not the old arcade game)
K I was on for a bit. Not bad so far, was lagging a lot earlier, but now not so much. Regardless, I'll be sure to add everyone when I get a better chance to understand the game. It is still strange to control the camera behind your player.

You get used to it. Once I got the hang of using wasd and the directional arrows, it's pretty much second-nature now.

Re: Cabal (not the old arcade game)
Bad controls.
Bad textures. Quests aren't tedious. Music is awesome, but repetitive. The path mapping is horrible. 4/10 so far. I had to stop playing. xD Compared to the 7/10 on GuildWars.

But, it's a Korean-based game you play for free. Were you really expecting the game to look like Crysis or something? lol

Haha, a Crysis looking MMO? Snap, that would be insane.

Imagine the frame rate drop in highly-populated areas...*shudder*
Anyway, I made it to level 21 and got my BA (fire). Considering I just made the character at like 12 noon today, getting to level 21 in 14 hours seems pretty good. Tomorrow I'll go for level 30. Last edited by Relambrien; 02-3-2008 at 12:58 AM.. |

Re: Cabal (not the old arcade game)
I've been online in cabal from 11AM-2:05AM, under my eyes are black, and I've leveled 12 times today which means I'm level 24.
I think I got something accomplished today. /passes out. EDIT: Oh, anyone know how to work the combo attack thing? I know how to initiate it, but nothing happens after that. If someone could tell me exactly, that'd be cool. Last edited by irishknight; 02-3-2008 at 01:10 AM.. |

Anyway, once you initiate the attack using the skill hotkey, a gauge will appear. It looks something like this [------------|------|----] Then it will begin to fill up. Wait until the gauge fills past the first "notch," and then hit the key of the skill you want to use. The closer to the -second- notch the gauge is when you use the skill, the better your rating is (imagine Good-Great-Perfect from DDR). I don't know exactly what being closer to the second notch gets you; maybe it's higher damage, maybe higher xp. I don't know. Anyway, the skill you hit will go off and the gauge resets. Then repeat the process with another skill. After combo seven, I think, the gauge fills up faster and there's less margin of error for you to continue. Then after combo 11 it does so again. If at any point you hit the skill before the gauge is at the first notch, or the gauge fills completely, the combo ends. If you switch targets mid-combo (basically, while the attack is going off or the gauge is filling), you can continue the combo on another target. Because of this, I've gotten 3 kills off of one combo fairly easily. My recommendations for comboing: Bring lots and lots of mana pots. Combos absolutely rape your mp; I've had to use two mana pots on one 10-hit combo before, to kill one enemy. For sword-users, select a string of three or four skills so that you can repeat the combo infinitely. If you're looking to kill individual enemies at a time, because trying to do so in groups will get you killed, combo. Buy the Magic Arrow spell and use it to aggro an enemy away from the group, back up some, and combo the enemy until it dies. Remember, combos cost sp, which you can charge by dancing. So /dance, Alt+Tab, browse FFR for a couple minutes, Alt+Tab, boom full sp. |

Dancing increases SP.
Now I know why people dance often. ~Tsugomaru

Re: Cabal (not the old arcade game)
Even on the highest graphical settings, the textures still aren't great. I know it's my graphics cards fault, but the textures aren't my main concern.
The controls are NOT the same as any other MMORPG. In a regular MMO you can simply change your view from behind, using your rightclick on the mouse, and hold the forward button. It then moves you in the direction your camera is facing. None of the three perspective settings do this in CABAL. The path mapping DOES suck. By path mapping I am talking about the boundaries that prevent the 3D models of users characters from walking through another object in game. Characters, for example, have a collision size of 1. (It may vary.) However buildings have a collision size that fits the size of the 3D model. I find that if I'm trying to walk around a building, and I clip the edge just SLIGHTLY, I will get stuck and walk forward in the same place. In WoW and GuildWars, if this happens, you simply glide along the edge of the building until you reach an unpathed area. Understand now? Edit: If anyone wants a fully tagged MP3 soundscape, please PM me.

My roommate and I are on the same wireless network, so we have the same IP address. Would we be able to play on the same server?

And Zageroth, you're complaining about the camera angles, when all you have to do is hold the right click and move the camera every once in a while? Like when you come out of a portal? You're right. That makes or breaks a game. |

Level 23 and going to sleep now. Eight in the morning, have to work today. =(
EDIT: Also, lightning is better than ice for magically inclined people. Has a better magic amplification or something like that (saw it in the stats when I was viewing my skills). |
