Re: Misc. progress thread
168lb
target weight is something like 164lb which will hopefully eliminate the childhood midsection fat. The longest I'm going to go is another week. I'm noticing significant reductions on parts of my midsection; using calipers, the left side went from a 25mm blob to a 20mm blob in the span of two days. Let's hope this continues. Since I was unable to go to the gym for the past week I've lost a ton of strength, to the point where I'm pushing DYEL numbers. I know I'll gain it back extremely quickly, so I'm staying rational about this, but my current state is so abhorrent to me that it makes me want to jump on a bulk immediately. |

Re: Misc. progress thread
This isn't any physical progress its more of a psychological progress. I am starting to be able to push myself a lot more at the gym. Literally destroy myself while there. I know my stopping point and when I can squeeze out one more. It took over a year but this week it just clicked. I just knew exactly how much I was capable of and not just assigning 10/8/6 to it

Re: Misc. progress thread
took this today.
I personally think I look like shit and am embarrassed to post this because my muscles are so diminished in size due to this cut, but I'm doing it for transparency/logging purposes. the major thing stopping me from thinking I look okay here is the love handle fat that you can clearly see on the left side of my waist. that's what I'm trying to get rid of; it's been there ever since I started lifting and probably since I was a child. it's seriously the antichrist of my existence right now. |

Re: Misc. progress thread
I was 200lb and bordering on 20% BF. that's a pretty good reason.

Re: Misc. progress thread
4 months
I am not natural, so my caloric intake was way higher than what a natural would eat assuming greater protein synthesis. however, I learned just how under-potent a lot of what I'm buying is. one person tested 60% purity on something. so, I was eating far beyond what I could turn into muscle at my dosages, for gains that were only marginally better than what I would have gotten naturally. as for the actual non-natural things, that part I can't discuss on a public forum, unfortunately. except, you know, creatine. my creatine was 60% pure also. (lol.) but that's one advantage of being natural: your caloric intake is more or less certain. if you're not natural and taking a laboratory of shit, you could in theory turn 4500 calories + protein into mostly muscle mass if not all muscle mass. measuring the potency of what you're taking, though, is another issue entirely; if you get completely fake shit, your whole bulk can be derailed. Re: Misc. progress thread
Down from 129 to 121.6 after a month. Can't seem to lose anything from my love handles though. QQ.
Also running out of healthy food ideas because I'm an epicly picky eater.

Re: Misc. progress thread
excellent progress Trixie, there's a very significant reduction of fat along your midsection (and other areas, but along the midsection it's the most dramatic)

Re: Misc. progress thread
Thanks. Around my midsection is basically the only place I ever gain weight.

Re: Misc. progress thread
I've said it already on facebook, but I'll say again, very impressive for one month of training. This kind of progress is promising. Make sure to adjust as needed. Plateaus are (for the most part) easily assessed.

Re: Misc. progress thread
Thanks. I know when my work outs start getting easy it's time to change it up. I've had to do that several times over the past month as I got into the routine.
I'm still losing weight. Just not from my waist line. But that's generally the last area you lose weight from, right?

Re: Misc. progress thread
Where you lose weight from and in which order is down entirely to genetics. It's different for everyone.
It's fairly common though for the waistline to be one of the last places to go though, yeah.

Re: Misc. progress thread
Strength levels are pretty much back to what they were when I stopped lifting in October. Today I was able to deadlift 300lbs for 6 reps, bench 215lbs for 4 sets of 5 reps, and overhead press 155lbs for 5 reps. Unfortunately I am heavier now (173lbs vs 167lbs).

Re: Misc. progress thread
Cut progress:
Leaning out nicely, @ 189 as of this AM so first time firmly under 190. Total of 15 lbs lost in almost 9 weeks. Was at the tailor this am for measurements, came in at: 16 neck 55 arms and chest 42 chest 31 waist 41 hip GAWD DAMN that booty be poppin' They have to have reg fit custom tailored pants made for me because there was no way to get the slim fit pants to fit even with adjustable waist. Swole problems? Was feeling a bit weak lately though so I upped my carbs a bit this week. Hasn't hurt progress much, tested my strength and hit a 240x5 bench so I'm happy with where I'm at. Haven't really lost any strength overall.

Re: Misc. progress thread
Current cut progress: Down to 206 pounds. I've only been seriously logging for a short while now, but I started somewhere in the upper 220's / lower 230's or so. I still have a high bodyfat percentage / not much muscle (a big drop came from losing water weight), but I've been very good about restricting calories.
The most helpful thing has been pre-cooking meals. It's not just a matter of convenience -- it also prevents me from over-eating. I eat some rice + chicken + kale for lunch and I don't get hungry until later, at which point I eat the rest of my calories (Greek yogurt, chicken, beef, fish, carrots, broccoli, protein shakes, etc) and go work out. If left to my own devices with no eating plan, I tend to overeat by a fair margin. Last edited by Reincarnate; 02-20-2015 at 11:05 AM.. |
