Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
OK having low tolerance for people who post stupidly in forums, this LordOwnage guy has been getting on my nerves a little bit lately. Wasn't enough to comment on until he blatantly took Rubix's 132-move LightBot guide and passed it off as his own hard work: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3/topics/22456

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
I lol'd and replied. Just silly. He has certainly been huffin it up.
Admittedly, his Level 3 is completely different from mine. But everything else is the same. It's like he went "Alright. Gonna make a walkthrough. Level 1, yeah! Beat it! I'm so good. Level 2.... ehhh not too hard at all. Level 3, oh man I'm so good. Level 4.... **** it, I'm just gonna copy the rest of the levels."

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
i commented on his whiteboard guide... which isn't nearly as good as one someone put in the whiteboard strategy thread, but is the same exact map. nobody seems to be using my WTD strat/map, which involves diagonal lines instead of straight lines for the maze. oh well.
that ownage guy is the type of person who would be ridiculed until they left the forums here on FFR, because he's annoying and his attempts at helping aren't needed. like someone who creates attempted guides for newbies to get stickies when there already are stuff like that... yet on Kong, he won't face the same issues and i bet he'll just keep going along blatantly taking the work of others for his own credit and e-peen.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Tass, I'm horrible at making guides...
btw, that LordOwnage is a buttmunch. I used that map when wtd first came out. I thought the setup was so horrible though. Last edited by Kotarouchan; 10-2-2008 at 11:53 AM.. |

Lol, he deleted the thread and reposted it to delete our criticisms... Just wow.
P.S. Page 69 *giggles*

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
That kid is really bothering me. He didn't even change his solutions like he said. He just re-made the thread in the exact same way after nuking all our comments that bashed him for stealing.
Whatever, though, it's obvious he didn't figure any of that out, and it's obvious that he just stole my solutions, lmao.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
That's one of the stupid things about Kong's forums IMO, how users can nuke their own threads.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
I'm done responding to him... anyone with a brain can put two and two together. I just hope he doesn't continue copying **** and passing it off as his own, because that's really annoying.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
He may have given you due credit (and not enough of it, as is demonstrated by his post's implication that he is still the primary proprietor of the solutions), but that doesn't change the fact that he originally set out with the intention of passing off another person's hard work as his own. It's only after he was exposed as a conniving thief that he decided to salvage what remained of his reputation by including references to your guide.
Anyways, he claims to have spent a ponderous amount of time working on his walkthrough, but as has been shown, that effort was dedicated to only three levels. In any case, I don't even like his solutions to them, lmao. If anyone's interested, for those three levels, I came up with some alternative configurations that make use of recursive functions. They are as follows: * ! = light * M: L2 F1: FF F2: 1!1R2 M: 2 F1: F!JJ F2: 11L2 M: 11FR2 F1: FJ! F2: 12 P.S. - I hope there's a sequel to Light-Bot =] |

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Me too -- light-bot is the kind of game I really enjoy. It's also why I enjoyed stuff like Maze Stopper 2... figuring out better ways to do things and cut corners here and there is a lot of fun.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Well that guy did post this in a different thread:
2 days ago MrRubix 314 posts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HuvDKVTLxI Unless you can get 131 :P 2 days ago LordOwnage 97 posts Is that a challenge??? ^^ LOL – no I think I’m not going to try to beat you, I might use your technique in my walkthrough. Is that alright if I give you credit? He asked and then blatantly did it without a response from you and didn't give credit? Then remade a thread and kind-of gave you credit? lol....... Wow...... |

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
I didn't even know he had asked. I would have said no, lol. There are many ways to do the light-bot levels. If he wants to make a new guide, he should use his own solutions. There's no point in making another guide that's exactly identical to a guide already OUT there, lol.
Phoenix, a mod, is ripping him at the moment, lol. Witness it before the thread gets inevitably deleted/locked.

I like how he tried to pacify his opponents by interjecting random attempts at friendship amidst a serious argument.
I don't have much else to say, other than... wrecked lmao |

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Tass, could you make a guide for that Gem-? game? The one for it now basically does nothing. Also Level 7<3~~!
EDIT: Also thanks banditcom, I got the Pandemic 2 Impossible badge thanks to your guide. It worked really easily. Thanks for using detail, I hate when people don't. It's the first guide I actually used for a game too. |

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Beating the 7th lvl (epic) is pretty tough. Just try to make a few high gems and make a few groups of towers in some places around the map. When the boss is going around, move your gems to those places. No need for trenches. When the boss is at the very end......throw all your gems at him. That should take around 1/4 health (maybe less). Good luck.
