Is it just your ego? Cause if so, get over it.

Re: The Fitness Thread
It's always been an issue when I try to workout, I see everyone else and think they're judging me or something. I've tried getting over it, and it doesn't work.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Just gotta be more relaxed with yourself then. People at the gym aren't judging you, they're busy judging themselves and finding faults.

Re: The Fitness Thread
I wanna start jogging but, I have an issue with feeling judged also. I also have a hard time finding the motivation. When i was younger, i was pretty overweight, and was made fun of by kids at school for it, so that was my motivation to lose weight. I was successful, got down to an average size for my height. But over the years i've grown lazy, and can't find the motivation, and i no longer have the asshole kids to fuel me(lol). What do?! :/.

Re: The Fitness Thread
I may post a before and after pic once I get down to my weight goal. Excuse my ignorance and if it's been already talked about in this thread before, but I wanted the opinions of others about The Insanity Workout.
It has worked for me, and I lost about 15-20lbs of weight from it (although I've only done the first month, then I quit out because the recovery week was boring me, but I do plan to jump back on it some time after my surgery this Friday). I stopped, gained back the weight, then lost it again, but I plan on doing the whole 2 months when I fully recover from the neck-lymph-node surgery. I just wanted to know what others think of it. It's done what I wanted it to do, which was to lose fat, but have a nice toned body (though not too muscular) at the same time instead of just going skinny.

I'm doing this along with a twice-a-week workout routine. Sign up for Fitocracy and set up a schedule for working out! (that's why I posted about adjustable dumbbells rofl). I'm probably gonna just get a pair of 20 lb dumbbells this Friday when I get paid, and get larger ones once I get stronger.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Yeah fitocracy is awesome especially when you're starting out, as it's a great source of motivation and helps to keep you on track.
I don't think I use it much anymore because...I don't really need motivation. I go to the gym now because I want to. I'm kind of addicted actually. It stresses me out and drives me crazy if I can't make a gym session. I need DAT PUMP. Got snowed in on sunday and couldn't go. FUCK. And if it was anything other than leg day I'd do a body weight workout but...it was leg day. ;(

Re: The Fitness Thread
I know that feel.
http://www.oldtimestrongman.com/stre...-henry-rollins Henry Rollins pretty much nails it for me. I've fought with major depression since I've been a child, and the only thing that makes me feel alive is being able to go lift heavy shit. EDIT: oh shit, new diet plan wants 26 egg whites a day. ahhhh! Last edited by Senip; 02-5-2013 at 12:08 PM.. |

Re: The Fitness Thread
I had 6 whole eggs tonight, with toast and bacon.
Fuck egg whites. Yeah, they're efficient as hell but I love the taste of yolks, haha. Lifting heavy shit certainly does give you one hell of an endorphin rush. Good stuff.
