Re: FFR Awards 2010 - Results
In all honesty, there shouldn't have been a FFR Awards till like April. You cannot base anything off a few months. That's just plain retarded, to be honest. I bet you Austin would have not won upcoming FFR player. Yes D2-D5 is a serious jump. I understand that. But then you also have several other players that do not get recognized for there skill jumps too. Basically this whole awards thing was based on hatred and favoritism.

I agree with Takedown on the last part, most of these awards are based of off favoritism and hatred. For example, there's probably someone else that we don't even know of that could've been more deserving of the up and coming FFR'er. We all base our votes on mostly forum users.

Ah, well, it's all over and done with, nothing we can really do about it now.
Let's just resolve to step up our game this year instead of bitching about what should have been. |

Re: FFR Awards 2010 - Results
If I didn't want this event to be a representation of people not deserving the awards they are voted for at all, I wouldn't have hosted this. Favoritism will always be the majority of these awards. It always has been, and it seems to get worse every year. I don't know why you guys are just now starting to bring that up.
I decided to make an official one so people can simply enjoy the event again, especially since 2009 was skipped. (And since people seemed pretty interested after an unofficial thread was made.) I already knew that the results and voting process would be chaotic before I made the first thread. Hosting the awards any later would have been even more pointless and offset things too much. 2010 still would have consisted of three months regardless, and adding months from the beginning of 2011 means taking away months from 2011 for the "2011" awards. It causes unnecessary hassle. It was either to do it when I did it or just skip 2010 entirely. I don't know what else to tell you if things didn't turn out the way you like, but you'll have to take what you can get here. Know that I wasn't obligated at all to put this together again, and I sure am not obligated to do it again. |

@Hammy: Uhm basing everything off of three months is not how it is suppose to go. People should have just waited until the end of December when the forum awards would have been at a proper time. Now 3 months is like oh hey I"m just going to base everything off of 3 months of 2010 because people are soooo going to actually show skill. Well guess what? It isn't. For all you know Jae, me, Sara, Austin, Middie or any other low divisioned player could've taken that spot in December of 2011.

Considering there's over 1.7 million users, and that there's probably 90-85% that aren't active, that's hard to come by, which is why we stereotype forum users, because they're usually the most active.

They're just forum awards people. They won't affect the rest of your life in any way. Just get over it. |

You're right, Takedown. Favoritism is definitely an issue. I have seen some terrible avatars out there over the years. Why does Synthlight have to win it every year? It's blatant favoritism and it has to stop.

Re: FFR Awards 2010 - Results
Actually, it's not even that. I've seen about 4 awards like these in my whole time on FFR. Every single one was based on the two main things "favoritism and hatred". People need to observe the website. Honestly I think this kid, MansOn, should've won the award for upcoming FFR player. He went from D1 to like D5. That's better then Austin's skill jump.

I got 2 FGO AAA's. I should be nominated for 2011's FFR Awards, my skill boost obviously went up. ._.
