That was a sick deke to set up the game-winner in Anaheim. My staying up to watch it almost made up for the fact that the wings lost. *shrug*

Re: NHL Playoff Predictions: 2012/13 Edition
Man alive what is going on here?
In a shocking twist, yet another underdog advances as the Ottawa Senators eliminate the Montréal Canadiens with a flourish taking advantage of no Carey Price to win 6-1 and win the only battle of Canada these playoffs. The record for this series was: 4-15 Man we suck. Congrats to mRpREggERs, Hateandhatred, emerald000, and blindreper1179. Which means, only one person is a perfect 2-0 so far... the random guesser: blindreper1179 (I swear the randos fluke way too often). Last edited by T-Force; 05-9-2013 at 11:35 PM.. |

Sweet! Though, looks like I'm going to lose my perfection with the bruins and the ducks.

Re: NHL Playoff Predictions: 2012/13 Edition
And yet another series over as the Chicago Blackhawks buck the trend of underdogs winning with a dominating 5-1 performance over the Minnesota Wild. And unlike the other two, I'm pretty sure most of us saw this coming.
The record for this series was: 16-3. Sorry Hateandhatred, bluearrowll, and 25thhour. Why you picked Minny is beyond me (except for Hatred. We both know why). Also, blind is still a perfect 3-0. On the other hand, 25thhour is a perfect 0-3. Last edited by T-Force; 05-9-2013 at 11:40 PM.. |

Sadface.
Oh well we handed it to them on game 1 and 3. Clean series and quality hockey though, bit of sticking from Koivu but otherwise nicely done.

Easily one of the worst calls I've ever seen. The referees sure were against the Canadiens and Canucks this year. Sheesh.

Re: NHL Playoff Predictions: 2012/13 Edition
I bet that went to review, in which case the refs didn't make the final call. That phrase always bugs me. The refs are never "against" anybody, it's just coincidental that they make bad calls against your favorite team more than once.

Re: NHL Playoff Predictions: 2012/13 Edition
It did go to review.

However, I would like to say that the officiating this season has been rather... off. I would also like to mention that I REALLY hope Pittsburgh drops the ball on this one and the Islanders advance. I know that the chance of it happening is basically null, but its the probably the only chance my Sens are going to make it to the Finals

Re: NHL Playoff Predictions: 2012/13 Edition
I looked at it a bit more. It is a pretty tough call. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're allowed to turn your skate into the puck as long as no extra forward motion is made. What I'm seeing is the player stopping and turning his skate into the puck. Since no extra forward motion is made by his skate, it would be deemed a good goal. It's hard to see on the small gif, but that's what I'm seeing as a justification of the call. I'm not biased towards either team, so I'm just going off what I'm seeing.
EDIT: Here's the rule I'm thinking of: "A puck that deflects into the net off an attacking player’s skate who does not use a distinct kicking motion is a legitimate goal." Once again, tough call. EDIT2: My other reasoning in believing the call was correct is that both skates turn in the same direction. Normally in a kicking motion the foot that does the kick isn't synchronized with the other.

lol that is definitely a kicking motion and I don't have a preference to either team. Bad call.

Re: NHL Playoff Predictions: 2012/13 Edition
Oh man, great game. Wings learned from their mistakes in game 5, it looks like, though they're still turning it over in their own zone a bit. Zetterberg finally found the back of the net and Datsyuk was Datsyuk, plus Howard has a good track record at the Pond with a sub-2 GAA. Good on the Ducks for forcing overtime, but the GWG came down to execution on a designed play after winning the draw.
Game 7, anything can happen. XD |

Re: NHL Playoff Predictions: 2012/13 Edition
Sorry for the lateness (I had some social stuff come up) but, first off, yadda yadda Los Angeles Kings beat the St. Louis Blues in 6.
The record for this series was: 14-5. As well, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the surprising New Work Islanders in overtime in game 6. The record for this series was: 15-4. Congrats majority, WE FINALLY RULE! OP is updated. Some updated standings: blindreper1179 still leads the pack with an incredible 5-0. Kibblre, emerald000, and mRpREggERs are right behind at 4-1. Now that 25thhour finally scored a pair, rounding out the bottom is Hateandhatred at 1-4. Last edited by T-Force; 05-12-2013 at 03:08 PM.. |

That Islanders game six was great to watch. They totally outplayed the Pens and I though they had that game in the bag.

I really should have known better than to pick the Canucks. They haven't been the same since the riots three years ago.
