Re: Goodbye Framers!
Removing av-miss obviously raises the quality of the game, but I'd say keep old av-miss version of 2nd sytle with the new one since it has historical worthiness.

Re: Goodbye Framers!
That's what everyone should do, just enjoy the game. With the new FMO/FGO files in progress, they won't be easy to AAA obviously. Those with jacks will be tough, since jacks will still be hard to PA, and fast jumpstream/double jumpstream is tough.

Re: Goodbye Framers!
I see no reason to EVER delay in fixing a bug in ANY game. Delaying this fix for 3rd style (which for all we know if month, even years away) is just stupid IMO....This needed to be fixed 5 years ago.

Re: Goodbye Framers!
maybe they can have high-scores with framers in addition to high-scores with no framers for the songs already released so the people that did the best with framers will still get credit.
Av-miss glitch gone, wow I haven't played for nearly a month and I will probably have to re-start up once this is taken into effect. Apparently everyone else is thinking along the same lines as me cause there are more than 5,000 people online on a Monday Night. Last edited by awein999; 01-28-2008 at 08:14 PM.. |

Re: Goodbye Framers!
AV misses = historical worthiness? XD
But yeah, they should keep them somewhere so people CAN still try to AAA and FC old framer songs. Maybe copy over Crowdpleaser, and throw a party for the first person to FC it with framers. I'm okay with the change. It means making everything in FFR a lot easier, but means that harder songs can be made without public outcries of WTF. Just because people had to work forever to FC the old songs, doesn't mean that there won't be extremely hard songs later on that are just as hard to FC (and not as annoying).

Also, I see Synthlight is in favor of removing avmisses - Synth, what do you think about the historical significance of avmisses, and how should we deal with them, well, how are you going to deal with it? Are you going to implement the fix now, or wait until 3rd style? I know you talk closely with the subscribers, but we're part of this community too, so I want to know your thoughts about this situation. |

You make me sad jimerax :(
But seriously, I think Synth will say what he thinks about it on the main page, when the time comes. At least I hope :) |

Re: Goodbye Framers!
Does it have 0-framers, or are you just saying it's inhuman to manage an accelerating trill with 1-framers?

But to address your question, it's inhuman to manage the accelerating trill coupled with a 1-frame jack because you end up skipping the entire first note's timing window. EDIT: I imagine with the Beta release there will be a few people able to do it. Even without avmisses, comboing that trill would be impressive. 1 frame = 1/30th of a second. Hitting two keys (the one before the actual 1-frame jack and then the jack itself) in 1/15th of a second is ridiculous. Last edited by foilman8805; 01-28-2008 at 08:47 PM.. |

Re: Goodbye Framers!
If Synth is willing to keep bluenote songs, it seems stupid not to be willing to keep avmiss. One is just as much as a bug as the other imo.

Re: Goodbye Framers!
stop crying about it being removed. keeping any glitch because you are upset your scores are going to be annihilated is absolutely retarded. this is the reason why i came back to play again. i couldnt play with avmisses because i get a horrid amount on my PC. this is 100% a good thing.
You wouldn't not fix something if it was broken. If your car had a flat tire, you wouldnt leave it flat. Any arguement against avmisses is for purely selfish reasons. get over yourselves. |

Re: Goodbye Framers!
Double negative threw me off...
But I understand where you're coming from...though it has become a score limiting feature in this game, it is in its true essence, a glitch. I agree it needs to be removed. But there's still the whole concept of the affect on scores, and no code sifting on Xelius' part will solve what to do with them. Last edited by foilman8805; 01-28-2008 at 10:08 PM.. |

Also, foil, I'm pretty sure Thundestrike typed that correctly. You wouldn't NOT fix it if it was broken. Meaning, you wouldn't neglect to fix it :) |

Yeah, what I typed was correct. I dont know if that was a misread, or if that was some play at some witty sarcasm.

There are quite a few good players in the poll that have voted they like the idea of avmisses being removed. You're not exactly making a point there. Last edited by foilman8805; 01-28-2008 at 10:14 PM.. |

Re: Goodbye Framers!
It's not about my scores, as I would be happy to replay any song to take advantage of an easier scoring system. It's because the history of 2nd Style is going to be preserved when 3rd Style is released, so why demolish the history of 2nd Style by making it incredibly easy to obtain previously unattainable score, when the problem is going to be fixed eventually anyways, and the history is going to be separately preserved?
