Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-SIX
Day 29 challenges will probably be posted soon, if I get the other two before then I'll make a quick edit.

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-SIX
Regardless of what you did and didn't want to say, keep it to yourself. I mentioned that this event would get near impossible at the end and it's day 29.

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-SIX
^ Pretty much this.
4k for a borderline impossible requirement is atrocious. What in the world are you on that made that seem reasonable? That's what my gripe is. I knew the requirements wouldn't be agreeable, but like 4k credit prize for flagging a 93? You'd make more than that attempting the requirement by a long shot. |

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-SIX
I'm sure in the long run, if someone managed to get it somehow, then they would be greatly compensated at the end of the month, or so I would assume, doho.
Unless of course it's all in good fun, there's always that. |

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-SIX
Credit counts changed and I'll up the values for the last days. It honestly doesn't really matter to me -- this event was far from successful and it takes entirely too much effort to do. I'll work on updating this some more right now but I'm honestly just anxious for this event to end. It took up too much of my time.

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-SIX
Hey, it was the first time something like this was even made. Don't discount yourself over that. If anything, it just needs a more automated approach rather than manual, which I wouldn't even know where to start with that.
Even though I have not participated in this, I do appreciate that you're hosting something different from the norm with the same game. I'm sure all the players thus far that are still playing these challenges very much appreciate what you're doing too. |

Thankfully, I'm pretty fed up at myself and how terrible I'm handling this, so I'm in the process of coming back. It's only 200 posts for roughly 10 days, which is very easy to maintain. I should hopefully be back to fully updated come 9 PM EST... |

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-SIX
It was a well thought out event and aside from a few small fixes, honestly, it was ran rather well. Don't beat yourself up because you've been drowning in things to do, shit happens. I can agree that maybe you should have tried to get more help, but aside from that there's not that much I can say you could have done differently, if anything really. You came up with some stuff that worked for everyone, and yeah ok you got behind update wise, big deal, that's probably the easiest fix there is. Don't be so harsh on yourself over it. I'd love to see another attempt at this on a lesser scale till it's refined best it can. |

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-NINE
The spreadsheet is still missing my Blackout score from Day 17.
Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get the 11ELEVEN challenge, but that'll prolly be it for me today. I think this event was successful, despite the update delays. I like tourneys and events like this that include anti-skill and out-of-the-box challenges. And I agree having help for another event of this size would prolly be a good idea, but that doesn't take away from how cool this event was.

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-NINE
Oh the lactating that could be done.
Anyhow I'm very grateful for all the work (the massive amounts) that you have done surrounding this event, AJ. With increasingly more difficult challenges the participation certainly dwindled, and I'm not sure how I feel about that (I like difficult challenges, but it's also nice to have more people attempt them so we can discuss strategy or compare results or something). I feel like some of these more unique challenges could be made into skill tokens too (the latest NaiNai challenge comes to mind, because quite frankly that was ingenious -- anyone can be a boowhore, but not everyone can be an accurate boowhore). As for automation, I can't imagine it would be overly difficult (for those with coding prowess, at least). The tournament dashboard could probably be set up with certain score thresholds that just need to be surpassed, although only for certain challenges -- those like AAAing a song, or obtaining a raw score of at least #, and maybe even for explicit scores like a clean FC with less than 8 goods, or a good-attack. When it comes to actually missing certain notes, having a specific score setup wouldn't work (this makes me think of unlocking Nanairopanda v2, where if you accidentally hit a yellow note, then you can just miss something else so long as your combo is no more than 181 or something), and then replays are necessary. It'd be a drastic decrease in time spent updating though! Anyhow, kudos, AJ. The fact that you essentially did this solo is just a highway to insanity. |

Re: May-hem: DAY TWENTY-NINE
I'm in the process of updating, and I could use your guys' help. What I'm going to do is fully update up to this point, then I need you guys to tell me if I have missed any of your scores. I know you guys have said that some were missing, but I'm trying to update from a few hundred posts back and your posts are admittedly getting lost in the muck.
Don't mention any missing scores until I say that I've caught up. |
