Re: The Riddle Thread
i feel like a mathematics geek for finding out that sequence, Reach.
should i answer it or let the rest ponder on it? EDIT: nvm, i don't think i got it. i got something very similar so i might have a negative sign somewhere where it's not necessary Last edited by xjohnieboyx; 01-29-2007 at 03:54 PM.. |

Re: The Riddle Thread
my next term guess will be -4697.
if it's right, i'll tell y'all how i got it. pretty sure it's right OK I can't wait i'm going to sleep i have classes tomorrow early in the morning. Basically, it's simple when you have a calculator. -(n!)+(n^3) for example, -(6!)+(6^3) = -720+216 = -504. Last edited by xjohnieboyx; 01-29-2007 at 04:28 PM.. |

For 7, 2pi^2r^3 is the 3d volume of a three-sphere. .5pi^2r^4 is the 4d volume of a three-sphere. I think. For the more punishment, we just redid this exact problem in Calc the other day. Expanding pi/4. |

Re: The Riddle Thread
My physics teacher talked to us about it at one point.
In fact, pretty much all of my teachers talk about things that aren't in our curriculums. (Curriculi?) |

I didn't expect anyone to get that.
Interesting teachers you have there. My teachers rarely cover anything interesting ;( So upon trying to get the hardest question I could find... I found it. 8) Impossible? 121211 121131 123111 ? 222331 221331 211111 123233 121233 111233 221132 222132 221132 323133 321133 111133 112111 111111 111111 (there was something else but I removed it as I was unsure about being allowed to use it).

Re: The Riddle Thread
It might have made it easier. I'm not sure. It was a diagram. I will say you have to fill in the entire column, not just the question mark if anyone was thinking that xd (whole other set, though that is the only way it's solvable anyway.)
I'd say if you can solve it your IQ > 160. But I am flaming mad right now because of this chemistry assignment (online). The system is so screwed up and picky and the marking is inconsistant and there are mistakes in the questions, errors, URG. Meanwhile I have a midterm on thursday I could be studying for ;( rant
