Kirlian Shores - Wafles
First chart! From a technical standpoint, this is really well done. There are some pitch relevancy errors in the intro, but I like how the freezes accented the tape decay effect. The rest of the file is layered very well and consistently. However, I feel that in certain spots, that brings up issues. First and foremost, the vast majority of the snares in the song as stepped as hands. While this isn't a huge issue, it certainly detracts from the overall playability. It doesn't occur as often during what you would consider the chorus, though. Another thing I noticed was how rigid the file played during the chorus. Did you try playing through the chart and ironing out awkward or needlessly tough patterns? I don't mean any offense, of course. Check out the hand usage and pattern choice during the chorus. Borderline Accept

Kirlian Shores - rCaliberGX
The first thing that popped out was the grace notes. Not entirely sure what they're used to accent during the intro. If they're used for that metallic click at the end of the plucks, I don't think they're noticeable for grace notes. That aside, the file is a bit messier than Wafles'. Pitch relevancy is way more consistent, and I like that you're less liberal in your use of hands. What I didn't enjoy too much was the density of mini-jacks, and it seems like they're not necessarily intended. I would also recommend doing a play-through, changing patterns that feel awkward to hit. Borderline Accept

To be fair though, I think this is one of the tougher songs to step well, if not the hardest. You both are tackling this really well; I'm excited to see your charts if you update them. And of course, if you'd like more detailed notes, just say so.

heh, the click for the plucks was reserved for column 1. the colour notes are going to the background piano. i'm not sure if you caught on, but the jump patterning is very strict in mine. kick drums are on [13] or [24], snare is [12][23][34], and sustained hi hat is [14]. crash/ride are layered as hands. this contributes somewhat to the rigidity of the patterns, though.

resent, went through and cleaned up some of the minijacks and burst patterns.

I can check some things out later for it but overall I was really happy with most of my chart. I could see knocking some of the hand usage down but to be honest I would almost rather not. I personally really like a lot of hands so that's kind of my style. There are two short sections that I could consider revising. I will likely pm you in the future about it. Probably not til after Christmas or something.

On a side note about half a dozen people have played my chart, including staiain and no one really complained about the hands or the difficulty spikes. We will see what I end up changing but don't expect much.

you should put it in there as an Edit char lmfao

anyway I'm gonna see what isn't taken yet and pick a few to get done

ay mike i got a question
is the endgame idea for this to make a giant marathon file where every file bleeds into eachother
because there's like a 10-15 second intro to Dishevel at the end of Kirlian Isles II that I'm not sure if I should step or what

I think I'm going to make a course, not a giant marathon file. If you want to step it, go for it.
