Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Aaaaand, fixed. I'll have Gradiant take a looksies, but I pretty much left the entire middle section untouched (except for the missing notes pointed out).
There be a reason I stepped it like that, and I remembeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrr! Thanks for the inputs Gameboy and Dossar! |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
It's actually not, things got a little messy after I pulled files out for the official tournament. I guess Silvuh up dated it on a spreadsheet with the new sets but it didn't end up in the forum I think. Gameboy did set 6 based on the spreadsheet and judged DATA DRAIN, Problematic, Real, Sunset Hamlin and Winter Night's Journey.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
For clarification, the correct sets should be as follows:
Anything else that was originally submitted to Nov/Dec 2014 was moved to the OT batch. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
I have just sent the fixes.
I hope I sent it to the right email. ffrsubmissions@gmail.com Right? And I lied, we did actually touch up the middle. Oops, we're determined.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Sets 1 and 2 have primary judgements and just need the reviewer notes. 3rd set I had started notes on but fell back on because of the OT batch. It's been tough because of the lack of active judges, but we are trying to get these out.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
As I mentioned before in the OT batch thread, we went through all the batches to look for files we thought would fit the tournament. We're trying to avoid things that likely wont fit in to one of the slots because we already have 85 files we're judging and everything on our own over there. There are limited slots left, once we finish with all the files we already have I can see if it might fit somewhere, but it's unlikely.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
We need to get the activity up on the public judging. I think I've seen basically the same 4 people so far on everything. Help each other out, once a set has enough public judgements it should be pretty easy to get it complete.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
The public judging system has been on for less than a week, and the total number of sets judged is 29 so far. I think that it's a rather good speed, so no worries at all. More people will start judging, I'm sure.
Suggestion: I see that at least some of the sets have been roughly sorted by difficulty. Could each set have a short title telling the diff range of the files? Like 'easy', 'moderate' etc. We could direct new judges to judge more songs in their own comfort zone = potentially more judges and more accurate reviews

The only set I was remotely able to do that with was the January set, it's also grouped by simfile author so they can avoid the sets with their files in it. My original plan was for them to be difficulty and labeled as such, but most of the sets don't have that option because a lot of people step harder files.

I've been pushing for a public system for a long time and personally I don't want to end up seeing "oh well it didn't work lets try to get some judges again" I've also seen how many people have lurked that forum since it's creation, there are plenty people who are aware of it.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Glad you edited your post.
On topic: I think the thing with this is most of us that aren't currently associated with the stepfile process already don't really have too much to offer in the way of actual useful feedback. Would you rather have 4 people who know what they're doing or 100 people giving completely useless input? I'd help but at my skill level the only files I could accurately give input on would be the 1-30 range and even then, not really knowing anything about this process, the information I could give would probably be absolutely pointless and a detriment to the process at the end of the day.
