Re: The Fitness Thread
I wasn't lifting when it onset. It was about 2-3 years ago. I don't remember anything in particular really. One day it just started hurting, and it has never gone away. The only things that help really are anti-inflammatory drugs, stretching and moderate volume weight lifting (can't go too high in volume or too heavy with shoulders or it hurts like crazy).

Re: The Fitness Thread
due to setting for 6 years of my life, and lots of FFR/SM, my wrists tend to get really weird. setting is a bitch on your wrists. if i set wrong now, which i don't due very often i'm extremely good at it, they pop and swell up for a week or so. its crazy and it sucks.

I need to see if there's something I could possibly do to prevent myself from getting so full so quickly. Struggling to get 2600 calories a day right now. Can barely push the food down my throat, feel so nauseas from the fullness.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Lol, 2500 calories is my diet weight, it's like 500+ calories below maintenance for me.
The trick to eating more is, well, eating more. You'll adjust, you just have to force it down for a bit. |

Re: The Fitness Thread
Do you ever eat unhealthy calorie-laden shit just to get closer to filling bulk macros?
Example: Double quarter pounder with cheese from McD (IIRC something like 740 cals, 48 protein, 40 carbs, 42 fat). Quote:

Well I say "discouraged" lightly -- it's just a reminder to me that it's going to take a lllllooooooooot of work to get there. One of my major concerns is figuring out how to sculpt the body I want over time optimally: full body vs. splits vs. emphasis vs. making sure certain muscles train in tandem as to avoid injury. By that last one I refer to how, for instance, many people do half-ass squats and don't dip below the parallel, and only develop the quads as opposed to the hamstrings/glutes, which leads to an imbalance that just puts more stress on the knees later. That's an easy example but there are many others I've yet to learn. I figure that's all down-the-road worry, though, since right now the goal is to gain strength everywhere and learn good form. Current program: Figure out the max weight for which I can do 10 reps of every exercise. Every week, increase the reps on every exercise by 1, starting at 8 and going up until 12. Train heavy Monday, train moderately Wednesday (10% less weight), train light on Friday (20% less weight) for a built-in deload. If I can't nail all 12 reps on every exercise by week 5, start the entire process over again. Otherwise, bump up all weights by 10%. |

^ Since you're so small, cheat meals will probably do a lot. http://www.animalpak.com/html/articl...on=diet&id=609
Started doing some front raises (BB and DB) during chest and bi days, because my front delts suck too. |

Re: The Fitness Thread
Thinking of getting some creatine -- can anyone recommend (powder vs. capsule, brand, etc)?

http://www.dpsnutrition.net/i/5882/u...e-144-chew.htm http://www.truenutrition.com/p-1047-...00-grams.aspx? I dont buy into the whole thing of YOU GAWTA HAVE TEH PH BALANCED!!1 I've taken kre-alkalyn, and I've taken regular, good ol creatine mono, and if you dont get a shitty brand you wont bloat up. So. Storm's got some NO stuff to help you get a good pump in it, and it's reliable. Also tastes pretty good! 80 servings for 25 bucks is a fantastic deal, considering you'd only take it on work out days. Creatine Chews are good for getting in the creatine on off days, or you can just get the bulk powder. Universal is reliable as ****, they're one of the few brands I would buy something flat out just from past experiences. I would recommend not buying anything that has any sort of carbs in it (except Shock Therapy) because most of the time those carbs are just flat sugar, and that is what bloats you up. No sugar, no bloat, no problems. Last edited by Senip; 09-27-2012 at 11:14 PM.. |

Re: The Fitness Thread
Yup. Take 5 grams a day, and you're covered.
I love Shock Therapy Clydes Hard Lemonade, but I dont know if you want to take stimulants yet (you can get hooked on them and then suddenly if you get stim resistant you have "bad workouts"). Last edited by Senip; 09-27-2012 at 11:33 PM.. |

Same thing. I'd get something with free shipping, Amazon jacks up the prices on their lists.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Alright, got some. I imagine I can just take 5g once a day mixed in with some arbitrary drink? Do you prefer to take it at a certain time with respect to your workouts (i.e. wondering if I should take it in the morning before I go to work or something).
So far, total supplements: -Orange Triads, 6/day (tbh I am mainly interested in these because I have a hard time forcing myself to eat fruits/veggies, at least for now) -Fish oil (3 capsules/day for 3600 mg total, but might be able to get away with just 2 capsules really since I plan to eat tuna/salmon too) -5g Universal creatine monohydrate -ON Platinum Hydrowhey (protein powder) I am hoping the creatine/protein powder won't cause too much bloaty water retention but w/e Thanks for the rec, Senip Last edited by Reincarnate; 09-28-2012 at 12:05 AM.. |
