Re: The Wii is Here.
I'm not one of those lazy kids who sits around doing nothing all day.
Wait, that's pretty much exactly what I am. Um, well, I haven't had any strain problems yet. My shoulders kinda maybe started to hurt after my 150th bowl of the night a week ago but it didn't last. I don't expect to have any strain or cramp issues. I may not look it at first glance, but I'm quite physically fit. I can touch the floor without bending my knees! Edit: I'll tell you what I have developed though. Now I can be anywhere and still feel that wrist strap on. I guess this is a good thing as it reminds me to put it on in case I forget, but it could be a bad thing in case I think I already have it on. But I've never actually let go of the remote sans the first time I played boxing after not sleeping outside of a Target when it went below freezing looking forward to having to finish a 12 page paper and going to work without being able to play with my own new toy for a long, long while. Re: The Wii is Here.
My friend beat Zelda a few days ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if you're as close to the end as you think you are.
Strange thing... a day or two ago, I noticed my Wiimote was down to three lights of battery power. Alright. But then... I checked it tonight, after barely using it at all, and the battery is as good as dead. ...Whaaa? No idea why that could be, unless someone in my suite was constantly hitting buttons for hours without actually playing a game (doubtful >_> ). I really hope there's not something wrong with my remote.

There is an article on Yahoo about how some Wii owners are experiencing problems with the strap on the Wii remote. It seems that the strap is breaking and the remote is flying into the tv and such. I was just wondering if any of you have had a problem with this. I'm sure many of these people are swinging the remote a little harder than they should, but it is still something to worry about if it is indeed that big of a problem. Just wondering if any of you have experienced this.

Re: The Wii is Here.
Here's the thing.
If you hold on to the remote, the strap doesn't get any strain. These people are letting go of the remote after incredibly excessive motions. Some people even think that in baseball, you're supposed to throw the remote. So, obviously, the little string holding the strap to the remote is going to break if you put it under that kind of stress. |

My job isn't to make you buy the game. I'm only providing custom footage of gameplay for anyone that might want to see it. "Life or Death" is one of my favorite operations simply because they added a defibrillator, instead of needing to massage the heart. The bomb's pretty good too, but frustrating. It's completely different from the DS bomb.

Lmao. It's like when you read a links can or something. It says something like "not for consumption". That tells me some people are so stupid that they would eat deodorant if there wern't warned not to. People who can't be trusted to hold onto a remote properly while swinging it or whatever shouldn't be aloud to have a Wii.
PS Squeek. Live and Learn is an awesome song.

Since nobody's going to understand what you're referencing because it'll change in about 10 seconds, he's mentioning my Last.fm sig.
I have about 6 songs from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle in my playlist. I think that's a great "final boss" song, personally. ps - I have like 25 Miis and average 10 messages a day and I still have 2,157 blocks free. |

Rumor says this Sunday Circuit City is going to get about 13-130 consoles per store based on popularity and location.
Nintendo says they're shipping 250,000 units a week to the US. |

Re: The Wii is Here.
That's odd. Where did you reserve it? Because if it was any major game store or retailer, you should've had it, no question.

Re: The Wii is Here.
I took off the wrist strap, myself. I found it inconvenient. I'm not about to throw my remote.

Re: The Wii is Here.
The only problem I have with the wrist strap is when I'm playing tennis. The little plastic connector between the strap and the string always hits the remote and makes that clunk sound.
That's my only problem with it. ps - Warioware demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE1Uk__eyss&eurl= Last edited by Squeek; 11-30-2006 at 08:58 PM.. |

Peter, you bought one?
Oh well, no luck for me. Looks like we're going to buy it in a couple weeks and then not touch it until Christmas. If anybody's seen the trailer to Valve's "Portal", it looks amazing. I'm pretty sure it's for the Wii

Re: The Wii is Here.
WarioWare, Metroid Prime 3, Monkey Ball, and Zelda were the four reasons I wanted this thing in the first place.
First of all, Super Monkey Ball and WarioWare are only the most perfect applications of the Wiimote ever. The only exception would be Katamari Damacy. Man, that would rule on the Wii. But that was my thinking months ago. Now that I've played five games on Wii, I can honestly say it's perfect for almost every game. I would never even consider playing Zelda on Gamecube now that I've played it on Wii even if the Gamecube version were FREE. The pointer for most weaponry and sword swinging is done absolutely perfectly. The one beef I had with the original Zelda demo was that sword-swinging was done with "A". That's lame. So glad they changed it. Even if it's just a slight flick of your wrist, it's so much more realistic and natural. Red Steel would suck if not for the controls, end of story. Again, as I posted before, I'm getting into it again and it's pretty cool now. Most people are calling it a "love or hate" game, and I kinda agree. Monkey Ball is just excellent. Using the controller to tilt the stage was done so amazingly well. I originally hated the concept of jumping, but now that I've used it, I can see how it really makes the game even harder than it was before. Wii Sports is great. Bowling, Baseball, and Tennis are very accurate with timing and motion. Golf still irks me a bit but I'm learning (getting -1 and -2 on my 3-course games!). Boxing still bothers me because I cannot seem to punch anywhere other than directly in front of me. Trauma Center is probably better than the DS version even though they're the same game. The controls were very smooth and felt very immersive. Can't wait to buy it. I still think certain games (Like WarioWare) are the most perfectly suited games for this system, so obviously I cannot wait for their release. |

Re: The Wii is Here.
The game I am mostly anticipating Is Sonic and Smash Bro's. Im a die hard sonic fan and I can't wait to have sonic blasting through levels. I look forward to the soundtrack as well. Smash bro's just goes without saying really.
