So if a restraurant you go to starts charging reservation fees, you're not going to tip the waiter anymore?

When delivery costs more to perform, you increase the price of the delivery overall to maintain (at least) the same level of profitability. The store isn't "stealing tips" from the driver (although I can concede that the system definitely hurts their earning potentials). Would you rather they raise pizza prices for delivery instead? By not tipping the driver because you're unwilling to pay for the cost of the delivery, you're shifting the cost burden to the driver. Your argument is basically "I don't care if their costs are rising, I don't want to pay any more to compensate it, so the driver is going to eat it." ![]() Usually the "keep the change" things works, but if that's not enough, I'll give a few extra 1's. However, with those coupons, you should just go with the original price of the meal. Make the deliver's day.

If I tip 40% for great service and 20% for competent service, why should a great waiter get 40% of a 10 dollar burger and fries, while a only competent waiter gets 20% of 40 dollar filet mignon? I treat restaurants as my share always being 20 dollars, and your tip is a percentage of that based on quality of service, whether I spent 5 dollar or 50 dollars. So competent service is going to get a 4 dollar tip, up to 10-15 for exceptional service. And I've tipped more than my actual bill many times. |

![]() tipping for pizza is not the same as tipping a restaurant. for most people who have no manners. tip the guy that is helping you out if you give them stress. or you need them to help you with your order.
i did take-out/catering at Famous Daves and would sit on the phone or in person, helping someone make an order. thats not my job. i'm not supposed to sit there and read you the damn men and go through and find out how to save you a dollar here or there. **** that. i do it because i want that extra dollar for my tip. i spent more time with you than a server ever would. i expect some money. also when people would call up and order $400 worth of food. the take-out employees have to do a lot more than the servers when it comes to food. i'm the one running the servers food first off. then i have to worry about the line of people out the door and the phone ringing nonstop. plus the food sitting at the window. its much more stressful that serving was because of how ignorant people are. they think that the food should be done and ready for them when they show up 10 minutes earlier than they said they would. they think that if they call at 7 o clock on a friday that they should get their food in 20 minutes. NOT how it works. there are people in front of you and a dining area that is on a 30 minute wait. damn i'm ranting but idc i'm still going. then people start screaming in the waiting area because they waited 10 minutes for their food. BUT THEY ****ING SHOWED UP EARLY. damn this pisses me off so badly. so yea as a current server. i have to say. its muuuch more annoying to work take-out. the people are needier and bitchier. theres the few tables that get that way, but you can walk away from them. in take-out you're thrown in and can't get out. tl;dr: tip the take out person. at least your change. the loose change really does add up throughout the night if everyone leaves at least the change. it's typical to get 50-100 tickets a night in take-out. so if everyone left like 30 cents. thats $15-30. its REALLY not that hard. minimum wage is not enough for that job.
