Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
Yeah, seeing as I'm right near Toronto and numerous other people have probably caught on to my idea, the chances of me finding one in Buffalo is probably not good.
BUT I MUST TRY

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
I got my copy tonight. Been playing with my brother.
Not to toot my own horn, but, I'm quite good with doing the vocals and the guitar at the same time (Both on hard). |

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
gotta love when people say things without supporting them with facts
Also: I found out singing sucks. Not just because I'm not the best singer ever, but the system just sucks. They should have had a way to set it to tenor or bass or baritone or whatever. Just set it so it's not all over the board so that I can't pass a song by singing across octaves. And phoneme detection? Yeah it detects what is and what is not a phoneme (ie binary... it's either a syllable or it's nothing ugh), but it sure as shoot doesn't seem to distinguish them (meaning you can just say "la" for all of the lyrics). Are the other singing games like this too? ps i would have really liked to have seen them lock the tone to what the original singer sang so that guys would totally have to falsetto their way through songs with girl singers. EDIT: wow i just figured out why Im having such a hard time with placement after moving hand positions: I can't tell the difference between buttons and not buttons like I can on the GH controllers. harumph... they change the button system to look less like a toy guitar and more like a real one, but then they fail to add in frets between the buttons... as if those little braille ****s on the buttons are good enough for me. They should have anticipated my need to be able to distinguish buttons by feel a little more effective than dots and ****. I think I might apply thin strips of grip tape the the edge or something. Oh and you wanna know how I figured this out? I was pressing "yellow and orange" but it was really just red and blue because I couldn't figure out the position. And other times I would go from the ride side to the left and up with my fingers in totally different spots of where I thought they were, so I'd be strumming along, one button off. Also: yeah expert guitar is pretty damn easy, because even with my ****ty skill level and ****ing up positions, I'm still passing these.

I've pre ordered this game. Not out in the UK yet though, I don't even have an Xbox yet but I know I will have one by the time it's out. I'm that excited about the game.

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
So can you drop an octave when needed? Your post confused me lol
I have a decent low range and falsetto but my mid-range is horrible so I need to drop most most music down an octave.

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
not true. my best buy was sold out second day as well. GH and similar music games are huge around here for some reason. there was a huge line outside best buy for the midnight release of GH3, and im sure this was a similar nightmare.

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
Have you been paying attention at all?
360, dude. Oh and about singing: it seems like sometimes no matter how I bend my pitch, it doesn't acknowledge it. Like, I'll be singing and doing fine, then a few notes will be lower. I'll lower my pitch and it won't be enough for it, so I lower it even more and it does nothing. So I lower it as low as is possible for me (ie all the way down to a bass-hum), and it still does nothing. At times like these, my only choice to not do poorly would be to actually bend my pitch UP and sing the particular note like I'm on a different octave. That is ****ed up... Is anyone else having trouble with their singing pitch simply being IGNORED for no reason? Like... I'm ****ing singing at the lowest point that is physically possible for me (and that's not even really singing at that point, just a bassy hum) and it's telling me I'm still too high (in fact, it acts as though I've not changed my pitch at all). |

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
Pleasure is as great as you would expect Bang Camaro to be. It is, dare I say it... better than Push Push.
By the way. I found another song that causes me great pain. But only on the chorus parts. ( The section labeled Fast Part is a good example ) Everything else I can nail. Outside by Tribes |
