The timing window is intense for guitar, slightly more forgiving for drums.

Blinded By Fear is by far the hardest song to pass (with 2 sticks). Nothing else even comes close. Your right hand has to go so fast for so long it's just ridiculous.

EDIT: Just checked- it hovers at 240-250 bpm the entire song.

Yea soon man. I haven't put my live time on there yet. Was waiting for my friend to get his on first before I activated mine, so I didn't waste any time like. But he isn't doing it anytime soon so I might as well put them on now. Will rock out soon.

So anyway, I think I only have GGaHT's and FWD to 5 star on Expert. I ran through Singing mode on easy and almost 5 starred them all which I was really proud of as I really CAN'T sing for the life of me. It's like, if I try to hit a low note or a high note. I go into the octave highers low note or something. It's all over the place. But when you get it right it's awesome and so fun.

I'm drumming on Medium at the moment and I can't play it much as it makes too much noise. Which is so annoying. >=( again though it's awesome fun.

I've beaten expert drums solo, and endless setless with my bro.

The only tips I can give you for run to the hills is, you gotta keep the rhythm.

As long as you can grab a 4x combo, and nab every star power, a 4-star should be pretty simple.

If you're having trouble during the guitar solo (where the triple bases come in), save your star power and use it there. =\

Sure, add me and send a message saying who you are so I don't ignore it

I know the feeling, RttH drums is the only setlist song left for me on all three solo tours . It's just takes consistency and stamina, no trick to it.

It's nothing but pure stamina. The rhythms are straight-forward for an Expert drums song, just practice it and get used to the length. And if you get tired, let yourself take a break by using your Overdrive.

That should easily give you 4 stars.

When you get comfortable with the guitar solo, you can Overdrive that sucker and MAX out your score. You can even Overdrive the part AFTER it and still get a HUGE amount of points.

I've had people gain three star powers before I even get one. Maybe there is something I'm missing here. Like there's a reason why they are. Seems quite unfair to me.

Anyway gentlemen. I am on live now so anytime you guys wanna play I'm usually on.

Which is why the difficulty comes more from the fact that the notes are close together and thus judged harder. The rhythm is a lot easier than the game makes it (even though it is hard, I'm sure), because fast close notes must be more precise.

Also: why the hell would you do one handed on those? If it's the rhythm I think it is, you should be going at it with both hands on the hat (?), then drop one down to the snare on every beat or whatever it is. Honestly, people.

Oh hey I had an idea I'd like to see implemented in a future iteration of this game, and I was wondering what y'all would think of it. The idea is basically that the drummer should be able to keep "alive" just by playing on beat. Basically, playing something other than what is scrolling on screen shouldn't hurt the player if it's onbeat. Like, imagine you're at a show and the drummer is freaking clueless, would you rather him try desperately to keep up, or would you rather him cut the bullcrap and improv something that's onbeat and works. Something else: I'm not saying they should get points for it or anything, just that they shouldn't fail the song or anything if they're missing notes but still keeping a reasonable rhythm.

If you're playing with a group of people, the unison bonuses can give other people Overdrive, but if you screw up a phrase, you will not get that star power. Your partners, however, will get it.

My friend can 5 star Blinded By Fear with 2 sticks, I watch his hands and I have no idea how the hell he does it. I cheat and use 3.

Afro, Blinded by Fear is Y YR Y YR Y YR. If you use two sticks you have to one hand 250bpm eighth notes for pretty much the entire song. There's a snare on every offbeat making it impossible to cheat unless you have more sticks.

Also I just FCed Wanted Dead or Alive drums, which isn't hard except for the ****ing cymbal wankery at the end that HMX charted to nothing. fukin reckd

Oh I guess I should pay better attention. I thought it was the same rhythm as Move Along. I don't feel like detailing it, so I'll just assume you know what I'm talking about. If not, feel more than welcome to look it up yourself

But yeah, I still stand by my snide remark about it being harder than it really is. Yeah, it's hard, but the speed of the notes makes the game require stricter judgement windows on those notes.

ps I totally just looked up the chart for Move Along, and what the hell? Some songs have the snare on yellow with the hat on red? I thought red was snare on all songs? SEE THIS IS WHY I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A FULL DEDICATED KIT SO THERE COULD NEVER BE CONFUSION ALSO HOLY **** THAT IS NOT THE RELATIVE PLACEMENT OF A HAT IN RELATION TO A SNARE ON ANY DRUM SET EVER

When I play a flight simulator, I only hold one joystick ;D

Not very realistic to fly a plane using a boner, is it?

Simulation! Not accurate 100% of the time.

See, this is why I don't have a problem with the guitar. The guitar works great as it is, even though it is ABSOLUTELY nothing like a real guitar. Do you know what goes into playing a guitar? ****ing wacky-ass finger positions on individual strings on specific frets, and chords striking specific strings, etc. The guitar in these games are a preschool child's toy in comparison.

But the drums, it's not the same thing. Rather than a lateral arrangement which is more like playing with a toy, it REALLY IS DRUMMING. It's not a simulation of drumming, if you're ACTUALLY DRUMMING.

But you aren't actually drumming.

It ignores basically all stroke techniques and all levels of intensity.

Yes, and when you're really drumming you would never have to cross over to hit the snare on the dominant beat. The reason why they do that is because with the setup of the kit (which is unrealistic yes but functional and it's just a simulation ) you can follow natural sticking patterns.
