Oh, and for more fun factoids:

I'm not saying it can't happen and I'm not suggesting that it's outside the realm of possibility. I'm saying we shouldn't talk about it because it's a horrible thing to discuss. It's like discussing NFL quarterbacks and wondering which one is going to have a season-ending injury next. You COULD talk about it, but why not discuss more important things instead? You could talk about his Cabinet or the regime change or the final days of Bush or dozens of other things. I don't know why the topic of assassination ALWAYS comes up.

You people are just so negative.
That's fine. I thought you were just saying it's impossible, and I don't want people to be thinking we're completely safe, then have the country crushed. It's good that you want to think positively, and I like that. It's just that look at today's day and age, there's hardly anything positive to look towards anymore. You can't turn on the news and not hear about some fire or robbery or murder. You can't go somewhere without hearing about the war or the economy. I'm sorry, I'm a pessimist, just as long as we see where each other is comeing from. Or are coming from. I'm not sure.

I'll be going Rubix, I'll be the military man in the nice Naval Officer outfit, I'll be standing east of the president midpoint of the line. I got a clear view of everything too bad I can't bring my camera.

p.s. there will be A LOT of military presence, both in and out of uniform, so don't do anything stupid.

Am I going to kill a famous Mexican just because I recently wrote a 12 page paper on my views of illegal immigration and titled it "Jumping Beans"?
For the people who don't quite get the humor in that, I am referring to "jumping" over the wall along the border and beans comes from the often derogatory term towards Mexicans, beaner.

Just because some people don't like blacks or have done something that might suggest they don't like them, doesn't mean they are going to kill a famous one.

What really?

Ok let's discuss.

Ok he might be and he might not be.

Ok what's left to discuss?

Talk about something else. Is that so hard?

Yes he maybe and he may not be... Why does it bother you so much to talk about it? Yes there maybe massive security precautions but it is still a possibility!

I really dont understand why it is such a taboo in your eyes (if you dont want people to talk about it make a rule). Its similar to when everyone was talking about weather he would have won the election or not, you still had "debates" about that.

Dammit Sprite-, you blew his cover!

Really though, there's no way of knowing if an assassination attemp will happen or not. Only time will tell.

That's different. We were talking about something uncertain in a way we can directly influence. Our words could possibly change the opinion of those who could vote.

There's no point in discussing just how many ways he could potentially be assassinated. What would that accomplish other than to satisfy the egos of those who yearn for blood?

its like hey guys our troops in iraq they can be blown up or shot in the head or step on a landmine or caught in an explosion or many other fun things! let's all talk about that! yes!

No. We all know you want him to die. That's fantastic.

How about we discuss the inauguration rather than the audience or things that have an incredibly low likelihood of happening? You know, like the thread title suggests?

I think you assume to much Squeek. Why would i want him to die? Oh wait, i wouldnt want that.

The thread actually asks who is going to the inauguration and we have found that out unless any members care to come out of the woodwork? Sorry to bring up a thing YOU dont happen to like!

Also it has nothing to do with troops in Iraq?

Anyway.. if it bothers you so much i wont talk about it.

Wait, so, it doesn't bother you that people are discussing how many ways our next President will die?

I'm well aware that the thread was asking who was going, but the title does not suggest that. Nor does the title suggest that we discuss how he can be killed.

No it doesnt bother me if people discuss the subject. If it actually happened it would be awful and then it would bother me.

Ok the title doesnt suggest it so i will not talk about it. Done.

Ok, then tell me. What is there to discuss?

So far I can see:

1) Could it happen? (Yes, it could as already mentioned)
2) How's security to prevent it? (Very good as already mentioned)
3) Who might do it? (Crazy extremists / racists as already mentioned)

It seems like you want me to talk about it?
