I think revamping the Vet system is an excellent idea, especially to people who are FFR regulars but suck at the game. e.g. me.

Hopefully I'll think of something to contribute to the thread more.

For when you get 60 credits on a song.

On a serious note, ffr points could work for character customization.
We just need higher quality characters, and accessories~

this is a keysmahing game, not MyImagine: Mall Trip. :/ I'm not really in favor of this idea. However, I DO like the idea of NOTESKINS that you can purchase for a pretty penny. Maybe a price range of 5k-50k? Also, Why drop credits for a different currency? I say keep it and revamp it.

First, we need to know the definition of a true veteran. According to the current requirements, one could have literally signed up on FFR in 2008, played for a couple of months, left forever, and still be able to acquire the veteran status. So, the definition as of now, is something along the lines of "Get 3 billion. Wait 3 years. And you're a vet"

I signed up on FFR in November 24th, 2010, with less than 3 months of rhythm gaming (SM) experience. From then I:

- Gained 3+ BILLION points in 14 days
- Have over 1400 posts in the forums
- Participated in over 10 tournaments
- Have played over 21000 games
- Accumulated almost 10 billion points (9,474,321,020)
- AAA'd over 40 FMO's.

This just goes to show you how active I've been.

I'm not here to complain about how I should be a vet and why others shouldn't be. Of course, I feel that I should be eligible of having vet status but the point of making this thread was so that the admins would come up with a more accurate and reasonable way of classifying "veteran" members. Then, being a vet would actually mean something. We would consider it an accomplishment. The veterans would be considered active, contributing members who helped FFR have a stronger community. It would be another thing to be very proud to achieve, like an ONI get, or an FGO AAA. It would actually MEAN something.

What do you guys think?
also inb4 everyone says umad bro

It means you are a asian-rage-nerd who plays to much.... YOKED.

Forum posts have no relevance to if your a vet imo.

Personally It should be strictly based off ffr statistics.

MY recommendation is 10 billion gts and 20,000 games play at minimum, something a "vet" player could easily obtain.

Make veteran status cost credits. Now there is another use for credits.

Example:

1 month veteran status: xxxxx credits
3 month veteran status: xxxxx credits
etc.

just like subscriptions only with credits

Making veteran status be a credit requirement entirely defeats the purpose of the Veteran title.

I personally feel like this title should be left untouched, but if you want to consider modifying it to be a bit more fair, make a forum equivalent that shows substantial activity (like 2,000/3,000 forum posts). Obviously, forum activity would have to be moderated a bit more heavily to prevent people from trying to postwhore.

Well, then what sense of accomplishment would you have from acquiring the status? Nothing.

Having "Veteran" status shouldn't be something you could pay to get. It's like paying to get a medal or a reward, whereas someone else worked their ass off to get it.

Furthermore, the only good ideas that have come up so far, which imo works the best is the table that Justin-ator presented in his first post, and Izzy's FFR points suggestion.

Veteran Status should have absolutely NOTHING to do with forums. Seriously.
At the cost of sounding unpopular, I will say this: People who are griping over a SCORE+YEAR requirement need to play the game more. It's a reasonable requirement, and is WAY too easy to get as it is.

I for one think it should be 10 Billion. I don't think that is unreasonable.

10 billion is legit. 3 years is boo. But of course I would say that since I still have awhile to go.

having a forum post requirement on this will encourage severe postwhoring.

It would, but this problem can be accommodated for by stronger forum moderation.

Alternatively, just leave the requirement untouched. I mean...a three year requirement on a site that's been around for almost nine years for a veteran title really doesn't seem all that unreasonable. There's not many perks anyway.

You'll see an improved veteran requirement list in the average-distance future.

It may seem unreasonable to someone who's joined FFR in 2004/5/6/7. But it's extremely frustrating for someone like me who joined just a year ago and still has 2 more years to go. I'll probably have 30 billion pts just before then, and still not be a vet.

I say scrap the usage of veteran, return to Elite FFR Supporter and tweak it so that those who are extremely active in the community get recognition for it. Three years is nonsense if you're a person who is on the site all the time.
