Scratch that. That website sucks. Terrible information and layout. Amazon sold out of its preorders already. I haven't heard of anyone else accepting preorders at this time. I refuse to preorder for my own reasons. Nintendo has promised that I WILL get one on launch day, and I'll be holding them to that. |

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
GameStop will be taking preorders for Wii as soon as they get the OK from corporate. A local one is also allowing Wii game preorders. I'm guessing that it's not much different across the country. I'd rather be safe than sorry, though I don't think I'll have a problem getting a Wii on launch day anyway.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
I won't be pre-ordering. I'm 1337 like that. I'll probably get it on my birthday next year (RIGHT before the 6-month free Opera overage lol). I have a lucky birthday. But even then, it may be another year until I get it, which SUCKS.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Good, Best Buy promised they wouldn't do preorders.
Meaning first-come, first-serve is the rule. I plan to find out their inventory and plot out my necessity to get there early or not. Because let's face it. November is cold, and getting up early sucks. |

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Yeah, I assumed that with the million+ America is getting.
It's just that I happen to live in a fairly technological area, and people here are not adverse to getting up early to wait in long lines for little reason. Let's see. Black Friday 2005, I was 300th in line outside of Best Buy. I didn't sleep the night before. Just stayed up until 4:00 then got my cousin up and left the house. We got there at 4:15ish and waited in line until 5. AND WE WERE 300TH IN LINE. The best part is that people are idiots, so regardless of being 300th, we had a PLAN and we executed it PERFECTLY. We were in that store at about 5:15 after 300 people were in before us were in, and we were out of that store by 5:30. No checkout lines. We knew exactly what we wanted, where it was, and who should get what. With only two people, we got 8 items in about a minute and waited in a line of about 20 people. I cannot wait to do this in just under 7 weeks' time. Oh, and aside from my story, I'm still holding off on seeing how Costco does a bundle. If they do a 2 controller bundle with Zelda and Red Steel (obviously the first controller is in the package and Wii Sports is in it) and sell it for ~ $350, I'm totally in. That's 250 + 50 + 50 + 60 and then Costco always cuts the cost of the bundle just because only Costco members can get it and it's a bundle. Plus I used to work there. Edit: Looks like GameStop is somewhat confirming that this Friday is Wii Preorder day. GO TO GAMESTOP ON FRIDAY! Edit: Confirmed. =) Last edited by Squeek; 10-11-2006 at 10:51 PM.. |

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
I'm gonna have to bump this so the people who click "new posts" can see this.
1) Confirmed across the board that Wii pre-orders open up tomorrow. So, if you plan on pre-ordering at Gamestop, it begins tomorrow. Let me know how it goes. I'm holding out for Costco or Best Buy. 2) http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/wii/fro...asy-207093.php This is just neat. It shows what developer's kit Nintendo is giving out. Apparently it's so advanced that it logs motions and writes all the code for them automatically. So, you never even have to code in movement. That's so awesome. This lowers the cost of production and opens the market to anyone who wants to try. Also, another rumor was confirmed. http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/nintend...007-207079.php This article says that even Wii games will be available for downloadable purchases in 2007. This ties in with the previous article smoothly. If I wanted to develop a Wii game personally, I would not have the funds to put that game on store shelves. So, I could just get Nintendo to sell it on their online marketplace! Amazing. |

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
$2,500.
Seriously, if you're not a million / billion dollar producer, that's CHEAP. Also, Pre-Orders were hot today. Compared to the lackluster PS3 preorders that mainly went straight to eBay (then got removed in a hilarious backfire on the part of the PS3 eBay sellers), this went smoothly. Some stores had dozens of units available for preorder and allowed many people to get their guaranteed console. I'm still not willing to pre-order. Still waiting for Costco or Best Buy. |

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
I missed preorders so bad, and I know it. So, I think I'm gonna wait it out for a straight-up launch purchase. I'm thinkin' Best Buy, because they'll be fully stocked (no preorders), and I have $15+ of Best Buy Bucks to spend. I'm on a McDonald's diet =)
