Re: TWG CXLII - A Storm of Hard and Boiled [Game Thread]
she's a good player capable of fooling me.
I had her as a scum-lean early most of the last game we played together until she had a really good response to me calling her scum she'll probably do something at some point that I find either REALLY wolfy or REALLY townie, based on what I expect from her as a player

only one forum game together and not very many video games together (less than 10 right bunnies? I can't quite say for sure with how rarely you play but how long you've been around)

Re: TWG CXLII - A Storm of Hard and Boiled [Game Thread]
I've been around for 2 years. Rarely play indeed, especially now since college, work, and spending time with the boyfriend.
We've only played 1 forum game together, not counting this one. |

posts in the TWG subforum do not increase your total postcount (they used to but its easy to see why they don't anymore)
same with TGB and the games forum

Re: TWG CXLII - A Storm of Hard and Boiled [Game Thread]
big post its pretty easy to follow though
HIDER STUFF: Similar to how everyone claims a green-check in the champion's game, everyone should soft who they would be hiding behind if they were the hider. This gives a chance for the real hider to give their info in advance, and, in the event of their death, will give info regarding someone who is most likely scum. ITS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE REAL HIDER DOES NOT LIE ABOUT WHO THEY HIDE BEHIND. A brief showing of the order of operations of roles Tracker/vigi chooses their role (Role conversion) Hider chooses a player to hide behind Woles/Vigi (if present after n1) choose a target to kill Detective/Psychologist/Tracker (if present after n1) choose a player to investigate* Hider dies if hiding behind a killing role (Wolves/vigi) OR if the person they are hiding behind is shot Other Deaths Investigative Roles receive results *It is important to note that the Detective and the Psychologist receive their result AFTER the killing has taken place, making the Detective slightly stronger and the Psychologist slightly weaker. So, with this in mind, the Hider has some interesting interactions with some of the roles, namely the vigi. By each player hypoing their future "hiding" for each night, this gives town info in the event of the hider's death. This is stronger than each player claiming a green check in the champion's game, because the hider can soft a future red check that gets revealed to town in the event of their death. Yes, the hider does die if they hide behind the vigilante. But this isn't really a bad thing. Aside from the SK, which is obviously not present in this setup, vigilante is probably the hardest role for scum to successfully fakeclaim (if you don't know why I won't spoil it). So, if the hider dies, and mafia one way or another fakeclaims vigi, fun things will happen, and town will be in a pretty alright position still. Everyone should, at some point before EOD, claim who they will be hiding behind. Its the best possible plan. If someone wants to be a dumbass and claim I'm rolehunting for this post, go ahead, I could use a good laugh today.

Just because I don't wanna explain what it is doesn't mean you all can't speculate~ Also as a side note, you've been the most boring active player this game. The fluff is as real with you. Quote:

New one pending if he plays like shit Also your read of sunfan is pretty correct, he's not playin' standard greggles, but the only reason I have to dislike him is the charu interactions and acting on that this early would be kinda gross imho. I wanna dig deeper, but recent posts make me feel a bit more like back burning him in favor of an inactive this phase just to see how it plays out. Like I sorta feel I have a good read of how to read greggles but I wanna shove this off as doing something different, so I wanna wait till say later next game day to really poke at it. Dig that you came in late, but with somethin' to work with tho. Quote:

Haven't kept up with competitive recently, if its no longer Hazard-emon, I'll look at it again. Why would you get laughed at for using them? Did they nerf them and I somehow didn't hear about it?

Re: TWG CXLII - A Storm of Hard and Boiled [Game Thread]
@Xel- OMGUS is Oh my god, you suck. Basically it is when someone votes a person who they think is wolf/mafia, and then that person in return votes the person who voted them or calls them mafia. That's what you basically did in response to me voting and calling you wolf.
However, that post above probably the best post you've made all game. Could you requote the discussion you wanted discussed that no one seemed interested in? @Greg- if Im the hider im always hiding behind xel/mr p. Depends on which of them I can't get lynched today. |

Re: TWG CXLII - A Storm of Hard and Boiled [Game Thread]
Also @ Xel- the following paragraph is from MafiaWiki
"OMGUS stands for "Oh My God, You Suck (for voting for me)!". it is sometimes used as a shorthand to indicate that you are voting for someone primarily because they voted for you. Why Do This? It can be used as an "excuse" for a Random Vote near the beginning of the game, or as a retaliation when someone is close to being lynched, as a vent against the frustration (even if the player being voted for has no reasonable chance of being Lynched). "Occasionally a Scum player will use it to cover a strategic vote, feigning outrage to get someone else closer to a lynch." I'm not getting voted cause im too good to get voted...but just keep in mind...ya know..future references...that sort of thing.... |
