It Is possible, just not done yet. Those of you complaining about lag have no idea what you're talking about.

It wouldn't work unless Uber super fast servers run for peanuts.

I think it would be totally possible to set up two player mode, and it would be awesome. They did it with pool and all those other games, why couldn't they do it with this?

1. with pool, you take turns. This means that the games don't have to be in sync, they just need to say "oh this direction, that power" and since its the same program, it should get the same result.. maybe send the seed used for the randomness as well. Not much data transfer. With FFR, it would have to send the exact time each arrow got hit and the rating given to it. 2. With FFR, timing is everything. When its 1/30 of a second to get perfect, thats around 33ms, which is not likely. So you're not going to see the other person quite right, and depending how much lag there is, there arrows may get done way off, since it can't predict when they'll hit the arrow and then it has to send the fact that "the arrow key got pressed". So you'll think they're missing a lot of arrows or getting good or average because they were way past the right spot, and then its still perfect. 3. When my computer gets frame lag, it usually halts the song for a little bit, then starts again about half a second on from where it stops. The point being, the games would no longer be in sync unless they did something on the other end, slow it down or whatever. |

it's not that hard
Im 13 years old and have used Flash many times, i havent seen the newest versoin but ive used MX and it would not be hard with that just very time consuming. The newest version has more powerful actionscript. i would help but Ive got school.

Instead of 2P splitscreen, how about single player double? You know, all 8 arrows, like in the arcade.

how would u do that anyway? u only have 4 ,count em, 4 arrows on ure comp.(unless u add the others on the number then eight) but, if its impossible to do 2 player vs, imagine how hard if just one player double. i mean more work for synth, making another dwnld copy and other things like edited songs and more stepfiles, and all that hard work to do.

Nobody understands also how hard it would be and how many bugs there would be in making 2 player vs mode. It would be cool, but it's practically impossible. If possible it would take a long time to make.
