Well, about the technological advancements part. Moore's Law states that technology doubles every 18 months. I mean, look how far we've come since 1985.

Remember, the second Deathstar wasnt finished...and I'm not sure if it is said in Episode 5 or 6, but I, for some reason, remember a discussion between Darth Vader and some other guy about how there had been a second Deathstar started sometime during the construction of the first.

I'm not sure if I made that up, imagined it, or what, but that is what I believe until proven otherwise.

Well think of it this way...the technology is so shitty in the last 3 because they've been under an empire, therefor things are shitty.

Just saw it and HOLY CRAP WAS IT AWESOME.

Though we had some idiot sitting in our row who laughed essentially every time Palpatine tried to corrupt Anakin. Idiot. Some people are just insecure, I guess.

Grievous: Thought it was made clear that he wasn't a droid, but a cyborg (part lifeform, part machine.) This explains his breathing problems rather well.

Death Star: Different priorities, perhaps. In Ep4 the entire station was complete before the superlaser was ready, in Ep6 it appeared to be pretty much the opposite.

Younglings: Predictable, but sad nonetheless.

What was even more disturbing for me was hearing James Earl Jones's voice say, "Where's Padme?"

Just saw it. I have no complaints. I love the fact that now Vader's eventual betrayal now makes sense. When he tosses Palpatine, he's not doing just for his son (I always thought that was a stupid reason), he's doing it for all the crap he had to go through.

The only thing I didn't enjoy as much as I thought as I would was the Grievous battle. He wasn't as badass as Clone Wars made him to be, though I can understand why they didn't make it as awesome. They just wanted the Obi Vs Anakin to be the best battle.

In related news, this is among the weirdest Google ads I've ever seen.

IMHO, Ep 3 makes the Palpatine toss way, way better. It was already good becasue it was Anakin renouncing the Dark Side out of love and compassion for his son, but it also makes the decision a whole lot more meaningful. Anakin's gamble didn't pay off - he sold his soul and wasn't able to save the one he loved, and in the end he regretted his decision, though there was nothing he could do on his own. But seeing Luke, with his noble love of the Jedi way, certainly stirred the good in Anakin - it reminded him of, as Luke put it, "his true self he's only forgotten."

Powerful.

First of all, you all are forgetting that it was his TWINS, not just his son.

Just got back from seeing it, and aside from the horrendous opening sequence with no music for the "mini-battle", and poor dialouge, i felt it rocked the rest of the way through (despite a lot of majour editing problems that have seemed to arise out of the past three Star Wars episodes...hopefully they will be fixed before it comes out on DVD). I really enjoyed this film. But...I did feel it could have been more intense at some parts with better writing. Although i will admit, I was depressed a bit after watching it. It's just so sad.

I'm going again on Sunday

MalReynolds came out of retirement to say:

Greivous had breathing problems because in the Clone Wars series on CN, Mace Windu force crushes his lungs. He's a dying cyborg. And a coward.

Did anyone catch the slight nod to who Anakin's father might have been (Even though he was immaculatley concivied, this is one where a guy definitley had a hand in the creation.)?

No, I didn't.

Also:

Am I the only one that was like "WHAT?" when Kit Fisto died in a single blow?

Yeah, that made me mad. Everyone's favorite Jedi had their own special scene where they just got completely owned.

Lame.

*cough*Darth Plagueis*cough*

Makes you wish you could read that "prophecy" they all keep talking about.

Kit Fisto: Surprised, but Palpatine is really freaking strong.

Windu: If you've already decided that Palpatine is too dangerous to be kept alive, stick your lightsaber through him already.

skaterjon's post goes so well with his avatar. So well, I cast my Level 7 Flame Shield out of sympathy.

And where the heck did we get the notion that Darth Plagueis is...I want to see the script from that scene.
