Re: Okay seriously wtf
r^3 works fine for me, but velocity is a joke ATM. I'd rather not be forced to play on r^3 next round.

Re: Okay seriously wtf
I have an Intel i7 and 16GB of RAM and it lags for me sometimes too, so I'm going to guess it isn't your hardware.

Yeah, I don't think it's my hardware at all :/
I just wish It would get fixed like asap >.> it's costly for an official to have laggy engines. |

Re: Okay seriously wtf
I'm gonna be pretty unhappy if I have to resort to R2, where I can't even change my old settings anymore because the settings were so broken...

Re: Okay seriously wtf
The lag started for me about 2 days ago, as well.
I usually play using the Velocity engine on the Flash 9 standalone. Try playing FFRAnotherWay on Flash 8. That's fixed it for me. |

Re: Okay seriously wtf
My Velo started lagging about 3 days ago. I had to resort to using R^2 on FP9. After spending a few days experimenting with settings, i finally got to the point where I'm probably doing 90% of what i was capable in velo, maybe even a little better on the lower end files. Still having issues with really dense patterns since i have to read a new noteskin but hopefully that improves :/.

Re: Okay seriously wtf
Try switching to FP 10, I have the same problem on 9. It started lagging for me two days ago too, by the way.

I'm also a bit confused how we have 3000+ people playing FFR right now. We even had 13k users at one point. Is the number of people online accurate and can it impact lag on the game? ..because it feels like it's general lag from server-side this time. Last edited by Hakulyte; 02-4-2013 at 10:54 PM.. |

Re: Okay seriously wtf
im fairly certain that a high number of users currently playing ffr at any given time will not produce lag on the end of the players, seeing as everything is preloaded prior to playing any song. if anything, it would take longer to preload the song you are trying to play, or login.

Re: Okay seriously wtf
You're most likely right, just wondering why there's lag "now" when the only change seems to be site activity.

Re: Okay seriously wtf
my assumption based off of the recent number of users having this issue, is that either velocity made a change to the engine (not likely since he said himself he isnt touching the engine, and is working on r^3) OR the fact that the recent amount of songs added may have something to do with it? this is an issue that velocity might have to look into.

Re: Okay seriously wtf
I dunno I'm using the Flash 10 standalone now, and it seems fine.
Though: when I was using Flash 8, it sucked huge balls and I reverted back to SM cause of all the shit I smashed this morning.

Re: Okay seriously wtf
Oh wow Also the lag problem happens when CPU usage on your computer gets high. Whenever my total CPU usage was below 10% the lag wasn't a problem, 15% had some twitches, 20% and above was unplayable. There's something about the engine during the times of the tournaments where it boosts up CPU usage for some reason |

Re: Okay seriously wtf
what worked for me was going into I.E. and clearing my cache. went back to velo engine and lag was gone. also my flash player stopped crashing....
