different communities hold different ideals and norms, so it's not out of the ordinary to run into people that would question the so-called "standards" we have going here

for example, keyboard play -and- simfile making is a complete and utter joke to pad communities. it's the unfortunate truth, regardless of how ridiculously ignorant and arrogant it sounds.

Again, I thank everyone who has contributed in this thread. I feel this has been very worthwhile and useful. Interesting, in fact.

it's cheating to play a file with lots of gimmicks on C-mod
otherwise it's fine because, for instance, lots of songs have drifting bpms or wildly changing bpm and playing them on xmod is just unfun

m-mods / a-mods are so fantastic. I always hated having to calculate which x-mod to use and having to create more x-mods just to get anywhere near the appropriate speed.

"Let's see here, this file is mostly 100bpm... 5x or 6x? Should I go back and write in 5.5x? Okay I can finally play... hang on, definitely need 5.75x. Ugh."

that would be really really cool. the one time I played IIDX on a machine I wasn't nearly comfortable enough to try to reach for other buttons during a song. keyboard SM would be a perfect fit.

Oh cool. Not only would that be handy, but you could make scary stuff like start button mod http://youtu.be/yFCbUFaNQC0
