There is always a place for Raster Images. Vector images are only good when few colours are used in large areas, otherwise the file sizes are actually bigger, and still loose quality. Vector images aren't really new either as they've been around since the 90's. Things such as pictures taken with a camera will always be raster because there are so many different colours in a very small area.

pixel art, is not a dead end, but its not the best way to get around as a starter lol

only pixel where needed.

why spend so much time limiting your self to such confined style, when you can improve your drawings, assuming that you like to draw, as a whole (including pixel arts) when you incorporate other style.techniques.

just a thought.
