D3 reporting in
Wasn't really a very hard first round song but my lack of AAA ability took me about 20 tries to finally perfect it.

...and I still am at 2-0-0-0. Also I never practice AAAs. Should I be concerned about making it through? I feel like most of the eliminations will be people who have not participated.

That's what I thought at 1-0-0-1, but then I saw 19 other people get a AAA in the first 16 or so hours of the song being up. I figured I should probably secure my spot even though a 1-0-0-1 would almost definitely hold.

D3 will get really interesting when the songs get into the mid to upper 50's. There will be larger gaps and people will get a good idea on what particular people arn't so good at.

I know this is gonna come back and bite me in the ass but I kinda can't wait for songs that will take me longer than an hour to AAA

Hey, cool idea. I won't get to playing my song for a little while, we'll see how I do. Still not sure I belong in D3. I also don't get anything out of playing a song a bunch of times, which is inconvenient.

I'm honored to be placed so highly, but man this song is a dumb block. I can't seem to get any higher than 3.0.0.1, and usually I get between 13-26 goods.
Use Orbular as well. hhgngnng |

Look, I'm a let you all finish but D3 IS THE BEST DIVISION OF ALL TIME.
But really though. I thought Fire was hard. The patterns were tough for me. The songs I find difficult are typically the opposite of the songs people at or around my skill level find difficult. |

The D2 song is really easy for me, got a sightread blackflag. I'm feeling more confident that I'm ready for D3.

The D2 song was hard too. Haha. Piano stuff can be a huge pain in the gonads.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Divisions 1, 2, & 3 Discussion Thread
I can completely understand that. I think it took me more tries to AAA the D2 song than the D3. Piano songs tend to have grace notes that I don't hear in the music which throws me off a bit (though I don't tend to use earphones). I like the look of colorful files though. Colors of the Wind was really nice.

Put some effort into it. Also, realistically you get something out of playing it numerous times. You get GTS and credits. Who knows maybe you'll randomly have an epiphany and AAA it. TLDR: You sound like you expect to be able to cake walk through and are annoyed that's not how it works. This is how the Official works, EVERY division should have to put in a lot of plays. If you didn't you were placed to low. / end rant Sorry for intruding on your guy's thread. It's nice to see the D1-D3 people being active though. Good luck to all of you. |

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Divisions 1, 2, & 3 Discussion Thread
I'm not annoyed, I'm just saying I don't think that's how I work. I've tried before, and very rarely can I even get a better score by playing a song over and over. I just have to get warmed up and give it my best, and that's that. Apparently that's weird, but it's just what happens, I think.
In other news, I'll just keep a "tourney log" thing by posting. D1: easy AAA, luckily I stayed focused. D2: first try blackflag, will need to mirror so the rolls are easier, and I got a good on the orange note so being on the left will be easier. (Edit: done first try, hooray.) D3: 4-0-0-2 sightread, can improve that. A AAA _might_ be possible, my hand is kinda cold right now... Edit: might as well include D4 for fun, first try 12-1-1-7. I have to mash the double 1234 rolls, that's all that kept me from FC, though the minijacks are dangerous for me too. Edit: Fire improved to 3 clean, now that I was expecting the first couple oranges. I like these patterns, they're surprisingly hittable.
