Re: Kommisar's Fast Foot Critique Thread
What do you guys think of KFC? Personally, I can't stand it.
At one point they offered popcorn chicken which looked good in the advertisements, so I thought eh, what the hell. Doesn't look super super unhealthy. However, the popcorn chicken was like 90% batter 5% chicken 5% unknown. Got my money back and haven't been back since. Oh, and do you guys count Chipotle as fast food? <3 their Burrito Bowls. |

Nothing.

Re: Kommisar's Fast Foot Critique Thread
Chipotle wins the universe, but no drive-thru, so don't think it's fast food really.
KFC is too greasy for me, I can't stand being able to drink grease off of a drumstick. |

When you come to Toronto, you must try The Burger's Priest.
It awaits you.

Re: Kommisar's Fast Foot Critique Thread
I'll add KFC in a few.
When I say fast food, I refer to a restaurant where you order before sitting down and the cashier does all the serving. Also if you're around southern New-Brunswick, this is the best burger place ever they later added poutine to their menu, which is one of the best in town as well

Re: Kommisar's Fast Foot Critique Thread
I love KFC, but that's because the one that I used to go to really wasn't all too bad as far as grease went. I've been to KFC's where the chicken and breading was soggy as if it was soaked in water for the past hour.
Another thing Taco Bell is pretty good for is their chicken. I am in love with their chicken quesadillas. A lot of these restaurants I haven't heard of, especially west coast ones. But I'm not a fan of Chipotle but that's probably because the one time I had it, it was repulsive.

I've only been to white castle once in NYC and it was -ok-. Though I gotta give them credit for being the first restaurant to use the modern hamburger we all know and love today.

here's my review for Sonic: An American Drive-In style diner that offers burgers, fries, tater tots, hot dogs, onion rings, popcorn chicken, chicken sandwiches, ice cream, milkshakes, teas, and sodas, as well as their "own" sodas (such as the highly acclaimed Ocean Water which is just sprite+blue colored coconut flavor.) The food really depends on the people working I suppose. I've gotten burgers that were super fresh as well as burgers that were soggy and smelled weird. Either way you get it, expect it to be greasy as all hell. A girl in my middle school once based her science fair project on which cut of beef from Sonic, McDs, Whataburger, Burger King, etc, had the most grease content, and Sonic was the clear winner. The WORST part about Sonic is that they might still be using animal grease to cook instead of vegetable oil. I'm not sure if this is true because I haven't made a mental note of it lately, and also because I really just try to stay away from their fries and tater tots for the grease reason. As I recall, they taste like cardboard. You can also order your tater tots with cheese and chili on top of them. The cheese tastes like plastic and the chili, I've heard, is a mix of beef protein and oatmeal and sauce. Most notable is the new hot dogs they've been featuring with all kinds of veggie adornments, one with sauerkraut, one with cucumber, one with tomato, etc. It's possible that those were for a limited time only and I didn't try one. So instead I'll review the footlong chili cheese coney. it's a foot long wiener contained by two separate buns, which makes it really awkward to eat and very messy unless you cut the middle of it. It's worth it for the price though. The best thing that Sonic has going for it is the drink, ice cream and shake menu. Happy hour is from 2-4 everyday and you can get a giant customized drink for half off. They have a slew of -limeade drinks, cranberry limeade, apple limeade, cherry limeade, lots of fruity teas, milkshake concoctions sometimes include candies like Reeses', and the list goes on. If you're going to Sonic, take care in choosing a drink, because the beverage is clearly Sonic's focal point. Food: 2/5 Drinks: 5/5 Service/Speed: 1/5 (rated 1 because for some reason, the company still expects the servers to get tips for walking out and serving you in your car. in this economy this is simply not the case, and people who work at sonic usually get paid a food-server's wage ($3/hr?) without nearly as much tips, making Sonic the LEAST desirable place to work) |

Re: Kommisar's Fast Foot Critique Thread
Kommi and everyone going to AN, when you come to Toronto you need to try Smokes Poutine and Gandhi's (they specialize in making roti's).
Both of these places were given really good newspaper reviews in the Toronto Star. At smokes, you'll most likely get the smallest size poutine as the cheese curds really fill you up, don't underestimate it. There's a variety of poutine toppings including pork, chicken, beef, and vegan. The prices range from $7-$10. I can't exactly find a menu for Gandhi's because there's only one location. It's a pita filled with potatos, curry, and the filling of your choosing whether it's chicken, vegan, lamb, so on and so forth. They tend to go for about $10-$15 and you can choose between mild, medium, hot, and very hot. Medium is about as spicy as jalapeno so you can imagine what the others are like. |

Re: Kommisar's Fast Foot Critique Thread
KFC isn't that good. I was told by my brother that KFC once put brains in their food once (I don't think many people are gonna want to eat there after hearing that). Also add to the list Pizza Pizza, Little Caesars, Wendy's, Mr. Sub, Subway, and Quizno's.
