![]() Actually Hi19's comments are appreciated. Plus I've done the same sort of thing to him, so I really kinda understand why he phrased it as he did.
A few things about S.Y.S.T.E.M. 1. It's actually "S.Y.S.T.E.M." I'm dumb and made that mistake. <3 2. The patterns weren't chosen to be "fun." Neither of my charts this tourney are "fun." I stepped them in the interested of being a little more technical than usual. 3. How it got into the tourney has no relevance on this chart as a whole, it was actually charted for the last custom and it needed a good deal of work. This is actually the better chart compared to the other one. 4. This chart is WAY better than NVLM's technical shit dump, if you asked me. 5. It's not a perfect chart, I accept this. 6. You all really need to pull of this stupid "You hate it because it sucks" argument. It's a disgusting argument. Cut it out. 7. The chart is stepped to the beat, all the minijacks are justified, as it's a large pet peeve of mine when people have no purpose for them. The only hands of this chart are literally 3 sounds at once. Notes aren't placed to PR. The anchor jack section was originally 1 1 1 1 1 1 34 sort of thing. I thought changing it to how it was would help keep the difficulty more consistent. Yeah that's just my thoughts. I'm fine with Hi19 saying he dislikes it. I'm no stranger to it, and honestly seeing things like that makes me want to work harder. PS: What's funnier is that compared to how I've phrased comments I thought Hi19 was reasonable. Thanks for the input everyone. |

![]() Best score for this. Hopefully I can make up the difference later on files I actually want to play, not too worried as this is just Round 1.
![]() Might as well try to be as helpful as possible with regards to this file... Quote:
In the anchor jack section, use jacks on the same arrow when the pitch doesn't change. You change arrows for sounds of the same pitch = not technical. Properly layer the cymbal crashes in the ending- you use hands in some parts and jumps in others. The minijacks in the ending JS do not follow the music in any particularly meaningful way. If they are going to the background noise, that sounds to me like ALL jacks, so using ALL minijack patterns would have been more technical (but also pretty stupid to play) What would have been best feeling for me was to use standard, minijack-less JS patterns until the melody comes back in, then layer the minijack sections of the melody into the JS with minijacks to those sounds. If you know what I mean. That would have been technical and probably would have felt a lot better. Quote:
I've already addressed the issue of the minijacks in the JS and how you could possibly have handled that differently, however there's a number of additional pattern changes I think could be made in the JS section. There's one 1(12)2 transition in particular that's very difficult. Try to keep minijack transitions into jumps or hands mostly 2-handed. For example 1(13)3 instead of 1(12)2 will flow better because it's a 2-handed transition. See, I have reasoning behind my criticisms. All of this is just my opinion, take it for what you will. (do I have to put this disclaimer on everything?)

![]() Feedback is everything a simfile artist should want. What makes the difference is how you express it. Any opinion can suddenly sound like one's adamantly believes it's a fact simply by the way it's worded.
So it isn't a matter of not wanting feedback, positive or negative; it's how the feedback is perceived based on your wording. |

![]() Just to double check.. If you have an account registered and the scores save on the actual engine, those are good for this tourney, and you don't have to ss correct?

You have to SS still, but you don't need to timestamp/gamercard

![]() I think the site just went down.
...lovely. EDIT: no, it's back up now. To Zanarkand should have fixed sync, and Reaver Mansion should have the skip removed in the intro. also, reiterating: those of you who have an account on DF's forums will not need the gamercard. Also, in the event of you forget to catch a screenshot, let me know and I'll look up your user ID within the database with the appropriate score. don't expect me to do it multiple times for you, though... ![]() as I said, it's all about tone and careful communication (see my previous post)
If an "opinion" is worded aggressively like an attack, it won't sound like an opinion and of course people are going to go down on ya. |

![]() sounds like fact: "blah blah [...] is bad."
sounds like opinion: "blah blah [...] don't like." if: in terms of my enjoyment, this is as bad as... then: opinion best of both worlds. it's quite simple. |

![]() So is this good? I wouldn't know because I haven't seen any scores from my division yet...
