Re: Show your sketching!
Holy crap, Spit! These are fantastic! I love the lighting in those concepts! Hell, all of these concepts are Grade S material.
On another note, I must apologize for my absence; massive amounts of work got piled on my face. I'll post work later. I'm too tired to grab links. |

Re: Show your sketching!
my god that's so simple yet so neat.
if i ever become more proficient as a musician (aka "get serious about my craft" as someone told me), I know to whom to go to commission my album art / digipack design :') |

C; I'd be happy to take you up on that when the day comes. I don't think I'll ever make a standard resume again, even when applying for a somewhat normal job. That was one was too much fun to make~

Made this for my girlfriend because I said I could make a better shirt than this that wouldn't cost $40:

Re: Show your sketching!
And you were absolutely right.
Love the revamp, everything blends more nicely than the original (which is totally horrible haha) I'm only concerned about the background, it feels unnatural, and goes in contrary to the atmosphere illustrated here (like some kind of vintage wolf shirt design). But I'm not your girlfriend haha. |

Re: Show your sketching!
I definitely know what you mean there. I might play with some lighter background schemes/sky looking/more fitting with the rest of the colour play. Glad you dig it

Re: Show your sketching!
Wow, Spenner... Stop blowing my mind. I am really diggin' that design resume! Speaking of which, I made one as well a while back(the information on it is outdated).
Also, small update. |

Re: Show your sketching!
Not sure if this belongs here but I figured someone might appreciate it.
So I wrote a program in Python. It first randomly defines three colors and creates a gradient one pixel thick on the top and the left. Then, for each interior pixel, there is: - a 20% chance it is slightly different from the upper left bordering pixel - a 30% chance it is slightly different from the upper bordering pixel - a 30% chance it is slightly different from the left bordering pixel - a 15% chance it is slightly different from these three bordering pixels - a 5% chance it is slightly different from one of the two colors that are not the most similar to the average of the three bordering pixels The result is an array of these nice downwards diagonal patterns. I made six small ones quickly:

Re: Show your sketching!
Interesting experiment there Arkuski. That's quite different~
I love that resume design of yours, Mahjix. Clean and dynamic and uncluttered with a designers touch.

Re: Show your sketching!
Arkuski, this is very interesting and I can already think of some uses for this. I just wish I was more familiar with the program so I could steal your experiment and play with it. >D <3
Spenner, thanks! When I first made my design resume, I had a similar idea of yours but the execution was extremely lack luster and dreadful. I took on this design approach to coincide with my website. I still want to do what you did.... I should steal that too. >D |

If you tell me what you were thinking I may be able to implement it

Re: Show your sketching!
Something quick for class tomorrow, where I'll spend some more time cleaning up the cap and stuff and making labels for a digital mockup.
I know it's way too symmetrical for the type of natural refraction that goes on... but I want sleep~
