Re: World of Warcraft
I thought a tank list was linked in here, maybe I just saw it elsewhere but apparently Prot is 4th best tank with Prot Pally/Brewmaster being the lesser two
Rip Prot though, I loved tanking back in Cataclysm (haven't since then)

Re: World of Warcraft
I'm leveling a shadow priest as well, though I won't level it past level 80 for now cause I'm working with a few people towards getting Herald of the Titans lol

Re: World of Warcraft
I logged something like 52 days on my Prot Paladin...I quit after Cata, but WotLK was some serious fun. I think I only ever had one DPS dungeon queue roll actually out-DPS me rolling as tank in 80 heroics (a raid-geared frost mage who was all sorts of baddassery, wish I could remember his name). I have no idea what's popular these days, but I had a hell of a good time back then. Super easy to hold aggro and nuke 'em down fast.

Re: World of Warcraft
Up to level 105 so far. The zones are pretty cool looking, but the leveling experience doesn't really interest me.

Re: World of Warcraft
Was it world pvp? I thought pvp in arenas and stuff was supposed to be balanced differently from the rest of the world.

Re: World of Warcraft
I think world pvp might make more sense. You get a huge buff to hp in battlegrounds and arenas which is what probably makes it lame.

Re: World of Warcraft
I know for world pvp it's really weird as prot paladin. At least, from what little world pvp I experienced. Light of the protector is supposed to heal me for 35% of my missing health, 20% more if I have consecration active, but in pvp battles it heals for like 150k even when I'm missing like a mil health lol. The heal is basically useless unlike in pve where I can use it to keep myself up for a long time. But I guess it's not bad since it's off global cooldown and can be cast whenever so it doesn't interrupt any rotation.

Re: World of Warcraft
It's possible that once people start getting better gear that damage will scale faster than hp and things will be fine. People also need these honor levels to get the special honor traits.

Re: World of Warcraft
Been doing some battlegrounds as prot pala and in BGs it's pretty fun. The heal is still abysmally low but damage output and damage reduction are much better than in world pvp. Flag carrying like a boss.

Re: World of Warcraft
With a bunch more gear I am starting to do an adequate amount of damage. They said gear doesn't matter, but it matters as much as ever.

Re: World of Warcraft
I feel so weak as arcane. Im 842 and while yes I can easily break 200k on mythic bosses it just feels so inadequate when compared to fire and other classes =[

Re: World of Warcraft
can anybody point me to the right direction for a first time player who wants to reach level 20 in a relaxing manner?
i kind of want to try it out up to level 20 so i can get my hearthstone hero unlocked (yes, you can call me a loser for playing hearthstone) what job should i pick, and should i just follow a main storyline if there even is one? |

Fire is the way to go though, really really good right now and they kind of fixed Combustion so no worries there.

Up to level 20 it's all pretty much personal choice. Take whatever race, class, spec you feel would fit you best. Do follow the story. It leads to many good items and quest chains for lots of xp. |

That being said, a lot of people are expecting fire nerfs within a week or two of raids being out, myself included. I would suggest if you intend on raiding to get each weapon to 13 points (pretty easy to hit) and then wait for nerfs. If you don't intend to raid, I would suggest playing whichever you enjoy, especially since fire is only 10-15% better than arcane iirc. |
