When you buy advertising your not making money your spending it.... I wasn't talking about you having ads on http://www.flashflashrevolution.com, was saying buy advertising on websites in the gaming niche so the ffr player base can get bigger, doing this would not make you money. Therefore, it would not breach the non-profit contract or agreement you have with the musicians. Last edited by potasium56; 04-11-2018 at 06:15 PM.. |

![]() I don't think you get it
Buy ads requires money - revenue FFR does not generate revenue Many ways that raise revenue can get in the way of being a not for profit site |

So what your saying is, the owners can't even advertise thier own website with personal funds? Which is ridiculous. I understand they aren't allowed to make earnings from FFR.com aka having ad-sense on the site They should still be able to promote ffr.com on other gaming websites to get traffic to make the game more populated. I do understand, thinking you may not cause we are talking about too different things here..... 1. ffr.com isn't allowed to earn revenue, which i understand 2. Is ffr.com allowed to use side income from other means to advertising ffr.com on other platforms?. this is what im talking about and should be allowed, because they aren't making money from it only getting traffic to ffr.com which benefits the community cause it makes more people play the game... Sure, getting more people to come here would be great but there really isnt a good way to do that at the moment since the site is kind of locked down with the permissions issue. It would be a completely different story if they had permission for ads and such.

Yeah non-profit site means a website not making revenue, but does this mean they aren't allowed to promote their website with personal income they made with other means aka ( not generated from ffr.com) This is what im wondering and people "TheSaxRunner05", doesn't seem to get that im asking this. I totally understand that , but everyone was saying you guys weren't allowed to spend money out of pocket on advertising cause its a breach of the non-profit agreement, but knew you were allowed because if you were to spend your own money it wasn't money generated by ffr.com so hence it would be fine to do. Some of the players, were calling me out saying i don't understand.

People generally don't shell out money to run advertisements for things that aren't going to make them the money back.

![]() Rhythm games are kind of a niche thing anyway. Chances are if you're into them, you'll find FFR eventually.

![]() Right, I imagine nowadays if we do get newcomers, it would be their love of rhythm games.
I think advertising for a flash-based rhythm game that was made in 2002 is a bit silly. |

![]() My understanding for the bulk of the life of the site, was that his hosting costs were free because he worked for the hosting company in some capacity.

There was a change a while ago when FFR was getting DDoSed on a daily basis where he was asked to move the server somewhere else. It's currently being hosted at OVH Canada.
