Up to 1494 points now, awesome. A little over halfway there. This badge is going to take me some time to get. Probably even longer than Papa's Pizzeria.

I lost to a level 15 and then, the next round, beat a level 15. Lawls.

I'm now Skill Rank 14.

Commander: Since utilizing the new strategy, I've won 5/7 games iirc, lmao. Locally a 71% winrate.

This totally makes up for all those points I lost earlier to pure dumb luck.

Ugh, one guy had full energy and rested. I could have easily used pilebunker to win the game(It having a speed of 2 though), but I did hypnotic stare in hopes for his attack to bounce back. He killed me in the next move.

1628, jonathan

Just beat a Level 20, lmao. Ended up weakening his Popo with my Cornelius with really counter-intuitive moves (he kept assuming I was going to Pilebunker or evade), and eventually swapped out for a Yoshiro to finish him off with a Dragon Punch or whatever it's called. Then he brought in Phoebe, where I managed to get off a Chi Blast, only to have it MISS. I also got intercepted. However, incorrectly thinking twice that I would continue to leave, I built up enough power to get off a SECOND Chi Blast, plus Chi Blast damage. All the while, my Cornelius was healing back to full health, with my third character yet to be used. At that point, Phoebe had less health than my Yoshiro. He ended up forfeiting, lmao.

You've got some catching up to do, Jon! ;P

Victories since using new strategy: 6/8 (locally a 75% winrate)
Level 4, Skill Rank 15

I unfortunately need to focus on my remaining two finals... Kongai can take a backseat, for now. I'll make up the remaining 1000 or so points later.

1865... fought two decks with Julus in them. UNNGGHHH. Julu is the worst.

1980.

2065... I beat a HUGE ****-talker, skill rank 14. He was constantly telling me how perfect of a player he was ("I have perfect cards! You are gonna get owned!") and how I was going to need absurd luck to beat him. He was a complete asshole about it all. Even though he WAS a good player, I eventually beat him, and he was flipping out: "YOU GOT SO LUCKY," even though technically I had like three misses for the entire battle, whereas he did not. "Nice perfect play there, lmao. Hope you learned a valuable lesson today. Bye bye."

He had a Helene with Valkyrie, Tafari with Death Mask, and a Yoshiro with General's Insignia. It was actually quite a good deck, but only because he had a Helene to battle my Cornelius (which was difficult because she was faster, so I had to deplete her mana so I could get range, and I couldn't just reflect her moves back either since all her moves were faster than my reflect move, and her Shield Bash would neuter my Pilebunker if both were used at once), and a Tafari to take my Yoshiro (which took FOREVER. Long-ass range-battle. Eventually stepped in and killed him with my Anex once Yoshiro got pwnt, but she ended up getting killed in the middle of a fight against Yoshiro, but I intercept-killed Yoshiro with Cornelius and eventually finished off Helene in quite the epic battle).

Goes to show you that you CAN still win when you're fighting a deck that technically has many counters to the strengths in your deck. A good Tafari player is quite deadly if you swap him in against the right characters, who can no longer flee.

Anyways, Level 5, Skill Rank 17, 2065 points. Just a few more battles and I'll have this damn badge.

You have no idea how good of an idea that is. And how much painful boredom that'll save.

****!!!!

Once I hit 2000 skill points, it just becomes insanely hard to beat any of these guys. Every single guy I fight has like HUNDREDS of wins, and they just keep knocking me back past the 2000 barrier. ****!

OMG Another deck with an opening Valkyrie Helene.

This ****ing sucks, man. Every single deck I fight now has something that just purposely screwed over my opening moves.

**** shield bash. **** it. I am so sick of that move screwing up every ****ing strategy.

2185, lmao. Still recovering from that awful loss earlier against some level 12 guy who was really freaking good. I suck at Kongai.

I also noticed: As a level 17, beating level 17 gave me +100 points. I'm curious to actually know the formula for how it distributes points. Then I'd be able to actually calculate winrates and expected outcomes.

Levels & Skill Ranks

You level up in Kongai by accumulating wins in multiplayer matches; sorry, practice matches don't count as Kong-Bot is not the brightest bulb. There are 50 levels, and each level is progressively harder to achieve.

The skill level system in Kongai ranges from level 1 to level 50, and players can only rise in level by defeating opponents in ranked matches. Losing matches, however, will cause a player's level to decrease. Your skill level in Kongai is basically just a simplified number representing the number of "rank points" you have.
Defeating someone equal to your skill level will yield 100 rank points, defeating someone 10 levels higher yields 144 rank points, and beating someone 10 levels below you will only gain you 56 points. Losses to those same opponents would lose you 100 points, 56 points, and 144 points, respectively.
However, if you are skill level 28 or lower, the penalty for losses will be softened. You'll only lose 10% of normal at level 5, 50% of normal at level 10, 77.5% at level 20, and so on. Once you reach level 29, you'll lose the full number of rank points with each loss.
On the flip side, if you're super awesome and reach level 42, a similar system kicks in to penalize your wins. You'll only win 95% of the normal rank points at level 42, 80% at 45, and 55% at level 49.
It's no precise formula per say, but it might give you some idea (if you haven't seen this info already...)
