i've already stated what THE optimal path is. vROFL x2 + FN. FN is the highest notes that fits in the time remaining.

And Ravia: vROFL may have 4600 notes in 3 minutes... but to actually get decent PA on it to make it worthwhile over other songs? I don't think even Rubix can pull that off.

Ravia: No you'd prob still need DS to pass it. The problem isn't the fact that it's full of framers, it's just the sheer number of notes. You need DS to offset the lag of the quadholding.

Oh, so even the great Rubix can't pull it off? XD
PS Tass I found the second-most optimal path

At least, you think you have. It's cool. I've found a whole bunch of different paths that are 5800+. Just a matter of which one is best for the individual.

I also am about 99.9% sure I found the 2nd most optimal path. Most optimal w/o vROFL.

You know, to the minute, exactly when every round is going to be posted. It was made explicitly clear at the start of the tourney, and I post a reminder in the thread hours in advance.

Wednesday 23rd 4:00pm EST
Friday 25th 6:00pm EST
Sunday 27th 8:00pm EST
Tuesday 29th 10:00pm EST
Thursday 1st 12:00pm EST

Monday 5th 4:00am EST
Wednesday 7th 6:00am EST
Friday 9th 8:00am EST

There, you don't have to wait around EVER for a new round to be posted, you can be here directly at the moment it comes up.

Friday 2nd, 12:00am EST, surely? If it's 50 hours between rounds, then everything after the bolded part is moved forward one day.

Er...yes that's right.

Wednesday 23rd 4:00pm EST
Friday 25th 6:00pm EST
Sunday 27th 8:00pm EST
Tuesday 29th 10:00pm EST
Friday 2nd 12:00 Midnight EST
Sunday 4th 2:00am EST
Tuesday 6th 4:00am EST
Thursday 8th 6:00am EST
Saturday 10th 8:00am EST
Monday 12th 10:00am EST

It would have obviously worked itself out properly when it was actually time to post the rounds, I just didn't make the obvious connection that as of midnight, it's the "next day"

anyway I should maybe PM Dev round 3 as well

also it would have been nice to make this 25 boxes round score-based instead of completion plus a minimum score

after 8700+ days on this planet, you'd think that by now you'd have learned that it becomes the next day at midnight. <3.

Having thought about it for a minute, I found exactly where the problem is:

I generally go to bed at about 4-6am, and don't parse it as the next day until after I've slept and woken up.

If I get up on Wednesday, and have to do something at 2:00am, I think of it as "Tonight at 2:00am" not "Tomorrow at 2:00am" and I suspect that most of you do that as well.

So to me, the 2:00am round isn't going up "On Sunday morning" it's going up "On Saturday Night"

what if we stay up til 4am normally? plus, with PST... the only weird time rounds for me are 9/10, which are 5am and 7am. everything else is within my normal awake time.

well i don't care about getting 5000+ cause I can never beat anyone here at PA..

So I played random songs, so heres my 4000 something score. Meh i don't care if i didn't choose songs. i just chose random (too lazy to figure out best PA / time ratio)

Alright, it's 8:00pm EST, 4 hours before the start of the round, but I'm going out. I should with about 95% certainty be back well in advance of the start of the round, but since I might not be, I'm going to do a number of things:

1/ I'm going to post the song portion of the round early, since there's no bonus for speed of completion, so that you have something to do with regards to the tournament if I'm late

2/ If I -am- late, I will put the bonus portion of the round of as soon as I'm back (I'm not going to take the other alternative, which is reschedule the bonus for some number of hours away) which I can't see any possible way to be more than 30 minutes past 12.

3/ If I -am- late, anybody who posts in this thread between 12:00 Midnight EST and my posting of the round will recieve 100 bonus points by way of compensating you for being here at the scheduled start time.

I think 100 points if you're here right at 12 and I'm not is a fair compensation for the possibility that someone showing up 20 minutes later and catching my post as soon as it goes up might beat you out of some bonus points.

Round 5's Song component:

Get as close to 500 boos on one song as you can without going over.
Since this would be trivially easy with autofail: no use of autofail. You
must complete the whole song for the score to count. Score will
be ranked by fewest number of boos under 500
