Arm progression. Been working a lot on triceps. They've not quite caught up to my stupid biceps, but they're getting there slowly but surely!

Re: The Fitness Thread
fuck the gym, seriously. I've tried multiple times over the past week to go to a gym but I get terribly intimidated when I go, plus there are like 3 million people there
think I'm just gonna go buy some weights today, what's a good size to start on? I weighed myself today and... lol I hate myself more each day |

Re: The Fitness Thread
i know exactly how you feel Choof. its much easier to go with a friend. thats the only way i can get my ass in there.
however i've noticed most people have no idea what they are doing. even the big ripped guys. they have shitty form and most of them don't have any shape to their legs... its bad when i have the nicest legs there. even my bad leg that i had surgery is bigger than most guys in there. i'll be going at some point today because i feel fat after missing yesterday. but i went two days ago and my 45 minute work out took 2 hours because there were so many people. also a plus for having a friend. you can both take a machine or set of free weights and just alternate between each other.

Re: The Fitness Thread
They're most likely not, but I do understand where you're coming from. I started the gym due to self-consciousness, and I remember being scared and anxious going into the gym when I was small. My form was bad, my exercises were strangely set up, and I was pushing incredibly minimal weight. What helped me the most was having tunnel vision when I went to the gym. I'd have my music on and my phone out with what I needed to do. I would do it quick and get out. Eventually over time after being comfortable with what I was doing (still not necessarily big/strong), I realised that no one really paid any attention to what I was doing. Everyone just kind of does their own thing. That's something you just have to try to understand. Obviously douchebags will exist but they're everywhere, not just the gym.
Try going later, before the gym closes. Usually the gyms aren't so populated at those times. Kmay is right about going with a friend, but being independant about your training and scheduling really important in terms of dedication.

Re: The Fitness Thread
If anything, now is a better time to go if you're self conscious. There are new gym go-ers everywhere because of their new years resolutions. They won't be judging you because they will have the same mindset as you. Make use of that.
