What a thrilling read. Kayla, the 5-year-old tantrum comment was impeccable. Tarrik, grats & look forward to competing with you, also happy to be here and proud of being able to make it up here, even if we don't stand a chance against the elite Gazelle, after YoshL's response to my lag question in his thread, post all of the laugh.jpgs you can. Forever. Also no preview videos is okay with me, I imagine they are a lot of work to do (on top of the already strenuous work that comes with an OT) and I think having 7 new files to play through each week with no expectations is one of the most exciting things that's happened on this site in a while. Very excited to play in the tourney. Good luck everyone!

The copyright isn't an issue on youtube, just makes it so that they monetize it for the person claiming the copyright.
Anyway, I've been up since 6am it's 2am my time and I have to be up 6:30am so I'm off. Most of the division stuff is done but there are a few that we're still debating on, plus late entries/people who entered not having enough plays. Those will be finished tomorrow.

It has nothing to do with a copyright -- it has to do with the fact that content in the tournament exists on custom engines and people are getting to access it early, when others don't have the means or knowledge on how to do that. Obviously it's less of an issue in higher divisions where most players know how to use the R^3 engine, but it's fucked up that this can even happen in the first place (not to mention anyone not native to that engine gets screwed too).
This could all be mitigated if content was promptly removed on custom engines when asked, but... well, when asked to remove the chart from FFRMania (which afaik is the only source to play the file), the response was simply "not my problem" and "it doesn't provide a real benefit." While I do agree with the latter point in that practicing will probably do nothing more than harm you, there were rules in the past about content being removed from custom engines when files were in queue/put in game. Simply put, there are only two solutions to this problem - either the content gets removed accordingly, or preview videos stop so that the playfield is as leveled as possible for everyone. Unfortunately, we had to go with the latter. |

it was released in the hi19 pack, which means it could be played on SM too. unless i'm sorely mistaken, but. i don't think i am.
